  1. Ok thanks. I’ll have a look tomorrow just seemed a bit strange that key was working before I went away. I hung key in same place as always and get back and now not working. Very strange Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  2. Hey all strange one, but just had 10 days away and when I got back I had a flat battery. Kinda new that was going to happen as I left my dash cam on for surveillance while away. So charged up battery and reconnected an alarm came on. My normal key didn’t switch it if, but the spare did. Spare key will lock and unlock the car and start etc, but my normal key won’t. I just thought it was battery, so replaced and still nothing. At this point I’m guessing it might need reprogramming, but I have no idea who to do it. It’s an Impreza wrx 2005 and the key is with the single button. Can anyone help please? Many thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

  4. Hi all it’s been a while since I’ve had to post on here, but just wanted some advice. So yesterday I had the dreaded CEL come on. Plugged in my reader today and I had the code p0031 ho2 Hester pow bank 1 come up. Had a quick look on internet and most say it’s the o2 sensor at fault, well kinda worked that out for myself. Now I just wanted an expert to confirm that my best cause of action is to replace the sensor or could it be something else?? The car runs fine, if anything maybe a slight hesitation when you blip the throttle and I have thought for a while the the car was ‘smelling’ of fuel. Any thoughts please, before I order the part up. Many thanks Jeff Edit also I’ll add I cleared the codes and started the car, cel disappeared for a moment then came straight back and had the same codes. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  5. Very sorry to read about your problem. I’m no expert, but 1. Are you sure the letter is real? Could it be mocked up? 2. And the buyer signed a receipt that states ‘sold as seen’, in my eyes that’s sealed the deal! They have no leg to stand on. But I could be wrong. Good luck
  6. If there is one, I’d be tempted to put a tank of fuel or 2 in and join you. Depending if I’m working
  7. Hi all just wondered if anyone had one lying around. It’s one of the two that’s next to the front of handbrake lever, between cup holders and gear lever. Can’t seem to find one on the bay, unless I’m search the wrong thing lol Thanks
  8. Good to know. So what your thoughts Savage? Is your resonated and how loud is it?
  9. Thanks sandals, yes I want to stick to a budget, but not too cheap. I’m not looking at a £7-800 system, but something sensible. Secondhand isn’t really what I’m after, would like new if poss. Nothing too loud, but that nice distinct burble. Had a quick look on the cobra website and a non resonated cat back was under £400, but would that be a good choice/ not too loud/ give the nice burble?
  10. Hi all looking at changing my exhaust, well cat back at least. And was looking for some recommendations please. My car is a 2005 blobeye wrx. It currently has a prodrive backbox and the rest is standard as far as I can tell. The centre section (resonated) is starting to show signs of wear and the back box is starting to get a bit of a ‘rattle’, hence why I’m looking at changing it. My car has been remapped to 285bhp and didn’t want to go down the route of another remap, so something similar to the prodrive. I do like the sound, but I can’t help but think something else would unlock the burble a bit more. Thanks in advance Edit also don’t want to spend mega bucks either :-)
  11. Yeah my impreza is the same, but mine happens after about 10 seconds. If you turn ignition on then press key fob button, then start car.
  12. I too would recommend Triton. Have use them a couple times and will go again. And I live an hour away. For the cost of someone to transport your car to them is minimal to the cost of someone local that doesn’t know Subaru’s, well.........
  13. Hi well just a quick look and if that’s your reg on the top middle that is showing that it’s an sti with BHP from factory at 261.5. So by that I’m unsure if yours is a ppp. If it is do you have the certificate to prove it is? And if standard car then 269 is, with just a panel filter and age of car, I think your doing good.
  14. Put original pipe back on last night, will test it later. Hopefully that’s sorted the problem 🤞
  15. Think I know what I’ve done. I changed the vacuum line to brake booster and didn’t realise there is a check valve inside the old pipe that I haven’t replaced, but would not having one in place cause the air whooshing noise on full boost?
  16. Hi all been a while since I had to post, but I have a little problem I need help with please. I have a blob wrx, I recently changed the radiator and a silicone pipe kit. All went well and everything seems fine, until yesterday when at full boost with foot down there is quite a loud sounds of air rushing. Take foot of and apply brakes and the brake pedal feels hard to start then as revs drip goes back to normal. So I assume an air/vacuum leak somewhere. I happened to be passing my mechanic and we had a very quick look, all my pipe work seems good and the only think we could see was the y hose had a bit of a bulge at the end after the hose clip. My question is, could a leaky ic hose cause the break pedal to stiffen up or should I be looking elsewhere? Must admit I have heard a very slight air noise from centre of car before, but thought nothing of it. Many thanks
  17. It does seem a bit cheap to me too. If you look at them have a listen for any noises from the gearbox. They are the weak point of the wrx. Also look for rust on the sub frames and rear inner wings. Engine is pretty much bulletproof, but if they have been played with I’d ask for info on it all. On stock parts the most power you would get is around 280 hp ish. Anything above and it’s been messed with and the gearbox ‘should’ be safe to around 340 or so hp. Good service history and regular oil changes is what you should be looking for. I change mine every 4-5k, but I don’t race around everywhere. If you or previous owner has a heavy right foot I would say change oil every 3k. Good luck in you search.
  18. What made you change you mind, out of interest?
  19. It worked for me last year, she bought me a load of parts [emoji1]
  20. Good idea, but they all ready have a cross in them, but that's mashed up to. I picked up a set of new ones yesterday. If I had a dremel I would just cut the damn thing out, but don't have one yet. I keep mentioning that a dremel would be a handy thing to have, I guess Christmas is coming lol. Gonna try and beat an old imperial socket onto it to try and get it out. When I do I think I'll add some antiseize to them to hopefully prevent this happening again. [emoji1]
  21. Check coolant after changing radiator yesterday, quick top up to correct levels. Went for a drive, ended up. Ring nearly 70 miles, never missed a beat and coolant appears all fine. Also topped up with some v power as a treat. TBH I don't live near any v power and normally use Tesco, but I intend to make a special trip as often as poss to get vpower in the future [emoji1] Also ordered the bolts that hold the under tray as one of the has rounded off, and is still there as couldn't remove it. Had to go to Subaru to get them, but price wasn't too bad. But has anyone got any tips on how to remove the offending bolt? It's rounded off and the cross head has also stripped. Tried to get a special socket for this job, but couldn't get one the correct size in local shops. Will order online if needed, just thought I'd ask if there are any other ways to remove it. Cheers
  22. Oil change last week, spark plugs and radiator done today. All seems good, will check for leaks and top up if necessary tomorrow [emoji1]
  23. I like the sound of that [emoji1]. What age Audi A6?
