Thanks mate much appreciated, I ordered a new icv gasket so I'm going to give that a clean and when I do I'll look over the pipe work etc. what do you recommend for cleaning it? I have found a post of someone explaining how to do it and they say people have used fuel and all sorts, surely there's some sort of spray or something that'll be better. It's holding boost fine but as for the air filter I'm definitely going to get a better one in the near future, but for now I pretty much have it down to an art, when I come upto lights I'm having to brake with most my foot while putting a bit on the accelerator so it doesn't dip then when I come of the accelerator it'll dip once maybe not even that and sit at idle, again it idles when in reverse haha literally confusing me so much but I reckon it's something petty (touch wood)

Anyone else got any thoughts and/or answers on this?

@savage bulldogs I haven't checked the pipe work for any leaks, although it has just been in the garage to get checked over, serviced etc the guy at the garage said he wanted to eliminate it being serviced and that before looking into anything else to do with the idle so I don't think he would of gone as far as checking the icv or maf but may well of checked the vac lines etc while being around that area (there's **** loads and I dunno what's what lol so not sure I can do that without someone being there and pointing things out) he also mentioned the air filter is crap and I can tell it looks in poor condition but could that be the cause of this when coming to a stop? Plugs and that would of been done in service so there all good and again I'm new to turbos so what do you mean by holding boost? It certainly kicks in nicely and feels smooth with out lack of power also I forgot to mention the abs flashes sometimes when driving at low rpm and it judders a tad then runs fine when it's not flashing, I read because of the wheels, brakes and it being wider than standard could cause this? It all seems linked in some way and it's something silly causing it to run badly at times as other times it's really smooth, when I start it when it's cold the revs are pretty much on 2000rpm and then earlier when I got home and parked her up again the abs started flashing and started running rough on idle and making some tu tu tu sound haha sorry for the sound description but it's the only thing I can put to the sound, lastly when I reverse it seems to hold the idle nicely if that's any help

Oh I see, my ecu isn't standard so I can't just reset it normally anyway can I? Also could a remap be in question here because of different fuels? The previous owner told me to use she'll v power as that's what it's mapped to so I went ahead and used that but I'm not sure if he just plucked that out the air and gave me a random answer, the car did cut out randomly just after picking it up and putting more fuel in (she'll v power) but then hasn't done it since which leads me to think could that happen because it was pulling the old fuel through and now it's given it a dipping idle? also is there a chance of this being the idle control valve? I was thinking about it because when I start to slow down upto lights etc it's then dipping down to about 100/200rpm then rising and finding its idle but could a broken idle control valve suddenly find its idle after a couple of dips or if it's broken will it never sit at idle? Sorry so many questions and probably stupid ones but I'm totally new to subarus not to mention modded ones and id like to try and understand as much as possible so I can get to know the ins and outs of this car

No I didn't realise you had to, how do you go about doing that? Cheers

You to mate, !Removed! hell she cleans up well haha and I'm not really sure where to go from this point to be honest...not sure if it's worth taking it to the garage as it could rack up a nice old bill but will tell me what the problem is right away or try and tackle it myself. certainly already saved money by trying your maf sensor I just need to find out more info on this iacv situation

/profile/5588-piggysniffer/" rel="">@Piggysniffer I have about an hour spare in between doing things today so I can probably get to Worthing for about quarter past 11 could you message me on (Removed number) please mate

-
@Piggysniffer I'm busy from 10am till about 6pm, is your maf the same as mine as well?
-
@Piggysniffer halfways roughly Worthing which isn't to far and it's upto you mate I was hoping someone a bit closer so I wasn't wasting to much of there time, thanks
-
@Buggyeye nice one mate I'll let you know on that

Lewes, near Brighton
-
@Piggysniffer the cel light isn't on and I don't think the revs changed, I didn't really check that to be honest I just removed it and it didn't cut out so stuck it back in, bit of a nightmare to be honest as it's obviously something quite simple, I just got the car and it's annoying driving around in town etc

Anyone in the south east close to Brighton willing to lend me a maf sensor to see if mines faulty, long shot I know but worth a try, thanks guys

Hi I'm having idling issues so I cleaned the maf sensor up (had a lot of black stuff on) it seems to be genuinely running slightly better but it's still dipping on idle quite badly. I left the car running after a warm up and removed the plug on the sensor but it kept running does this mean the maf is faulty? also a bit of a long shot but if anyone's in the south east area not to far from me it would be ideal if we could arrange a meet so I could borrow you maf quickly lol outrageous I know but it'll save me some money and I'll swing you a drink :) any replies/help much appreciated

Finally got the steering wheel and stickers on :) Stickers-bottom right and left of Windowscreen, was a risky place to put them but I kind of like it, going to see what I think over the next couple of weeks and remove and replace with new ones somewhere else if need be. hope you guys like it anyway

Hi I'm having some idling issues with my car, basically I'm thinking of giving the iacv and maf sensors a clean, read that obviously I should be very careful and to also buy some gaskets, does the maf sensor have a gasket or is it just the iacv that has one? What's the best thing for cleaning? Also what gasket will I need as I'm not sure on the engine year and lastly is it best to just buy new sensors etc? Thanks in advance

Gambitfest? Everyone scared off? Update me please lol

Got her back earlier today :) got a full vehicle check over, full service including gearbox, engine and diff oil cambelt, waterpump and thermostat news pads and discs and a load of other random niggley bits but still left with a little list of things like sorting out poorly routed wires etc, a bit of paint work on the outside from previous stickers that have been removed. still need to put the stickers on but I'm going to wait for the boss kit to arrive so I can stick the steering wheel and stickers on to get some more pictures for everyone :) one thing is though the idle is still playing up and dipping along with rising so I'm hoping it's just the iacv needing a clean up, gonna order a gasket it in the next couple days and get that sorted but it's causing the oil pressure to dip and sometimes cut out so I'm slightly worried but the cars keeping a lot cooler than it was, also the guy in the garage said the cars remapped to let the fan kick in a bit to late which is something I need to sort, really want it perfect so I can happily take it to shows and meets etc and feel confident. i do have a video of the idle if anyone's interested in having a look let me know, cheers guys.

Little update: hopefully getting the car back from the garage today, got the cambelt, water pump etc done for piece of mind along with a service and got them to go over the whole car with a list of things to be done over time. I also found out the cars been undersealed as well which is ideal, plus my Subaru owners club stickers turnt up so looking forward to getting them on the car and getting some more pictures up and I ordered a blue omp steering wheel so hopefully that'll be here this week at some point.

Things have changed, spoke to the guy at the garage and he was saying it actually does make a difference on the road, obviously at high speeds I know it puts downforce on the back end just didn't realise how much it affected it just assumed it was best for flying round a track with anyway he was saying because it's the height of the roof it's catching the air flow where as if I lowered it, it wouldn't be so there you go she's staying :)

Will replied to K3vin's topic in Subaru Parts For Sale
@K3vin do you mind texting me on 07769914317 to arrange things, thanks -
@RpsChesterfield haha I hear you, not gonna lie though mate as a daily it's not for me, I reckon if I lose a few inches it'll look much better...like I was saying to someone else if it was a 600bhp track beast then yer I'd leave but nothing wrong with trying because if it doesn't look good I can get some taller brackets

Thanks guys, not worth selling for more mods then haha no I do love it...goes with the car well
