I had a E93 BMW before this car but i had to change due to having a baby on the way and like you i fancied getting back into something fun aswell. I ended buying a blob STI. Plenty of room in the back for the ISOFix base and car seat leaving the passenger plenty of space. The boot is surprisingly big aswell. I had in there the other day a cosatto push chair base along with the moses basket, 6 x 10ft football nets bag, footballs and a scooter. So a scooby is a capable family car. I have a 11year old and a 5 week old. We have a Focus as are first car though. No way i would do long distance family day outs in the scoob. Makes too much racket and isnt that comfy on long journeys. My mrs hates it. I love it but mainly as a toy. So basically an awesome toy that is capable of sticking the family in there if need be but i will use the Focus most of the time for the family stuff. I tend to just use the scooby for thrashing about when i fancy a drive on my tod. Just see it as my big toy lol.

Seen as @Rps is dragging me to some car show tomorrow i thought i best clean up the car: Washed n waxed the body work Gelled the tyres Quick wipe around the engine bay Interior cleaned Properly cleaned the windows and applied rainX (love the stuff) Refitted the Mudflaps Painted the radiators brackets as they was looking worn (pic shows a bolt missing but its back in, thought i would mention incase anyone loses sleep over it ) Ran out of light to do any more stuff lol _____________ I have now decided though i am going to get wheels refurbished as i can see specks of gold where the black paint as chipped away. A massive fan of black on black cars but kind of temped to go back to gold.

Just follow the corsas, vectras and cherry bombs exhausts. -
Always been with greenlight with the performance cars i have had. They have always been great. Paying £560 for my scooby with all mods declared + future mods and they have promised ill get a 25% discount on renewal if i keep it. Think its only £35 for track days insurance aswell. ____________ I had the belts changed on my car at SC yesterday, they knocked off my locking wheel nuts too as i cant find the key. Really liking the place

My opinion but nothing looks better than a clean original engine bay: Being fussy i need to get the toothpick out on the intercooler but ill leave that until i really have nothing to do with my time lol.

I know different @Rps. Lets go out for 1 or 2 drinks.... 3 days later... u wake up in middle of a golf course sand pit dressed as elvis presley hugging street construction sign. Or that last 1 or 2 pints you lured me into the night before my mrs best mates wedding.... well that went well. Standard 1 or 2 drinks with Rick.

@Rps I have a problem, i have plug sockets turned on with no plugs in: Last time i was at yours i also turned the plug socket on behind the sofa. Have you turned it off yet?
-
Surprised you have mentioned 'Dirty Dancing' yet @Rps , was always trying to get me to watch that.

Na they had about 1-2cm clearence. I have a lip on my front drive that keeps the stones in and they use to catch on that when reversing up it, resulted in them being ripped off the bracket.

Hello mate, I got my mrs to run it up to third then drop to neutral to see if i could hear anything. Didn't want her in there too long as i was imagining one of the jack stands collapsing and her flying off the drive lol. I shouldnt be posting this yet as ill just jinx my self but i took it out late last night and no noise and this morning no noise. Only thing i did was remove the mudflaps and bend the metal the bracket fits to back into place. Thry was doing my head in anyway as i kept ripping them off when reversing up my drive. Still cannot see how that could cause a knock on the back end for the first 2-3minutes of driving from a cold start. But ill take it for time being lol Fingers crossed.

Thanks all for the quick replies, really appreiciate it. Managed to finish work early today so i have just put the car up in the air. Im very wet.... No noise is coming from the diff, infact there is no noise at all. Do you think i can rule out the diff now or do you think the noise would only come when the weight is back on the ground? Going to have a good check around everything else under there in a minute. Could do with taking the wheels off but it looks like i dont have a locking wheel nut key... do'h

Hello guys, My car has developed a noise over the last 2 weeks and it is getting louder. When i first use the car i am getting a banging noise from the rear that will last a few minutes if i stay below 30mph and then it will totally disappear, or totally disappear if a go over 40mph. The noise is almost like having a big stone stuck in the tyre. Also noticed a slight scraping noise along with it tonight. Link to video (15 seconds in you can hear the noise): Initially i thought it might have something to do with the rear diff as i does sound like it is coming from the rear centre. So i took it into Scooby Clinic yesterday to have the rear diff oil changed, hoping it would cure the noise... But it didn't. Even though it could still be the diff i now have a feeling it is something else. If i can't suss it by the weekend ill just have it back into SC so they can have a look. Just like to see if anyone on here might have a clue before i have to do that? Thanks
