  1. Yes plenty brute force just what you need when doing the job on the driveway!!!! NOT! 63k on the clock but that corner did take fair thump from a pothole just recently 🥺
  2. I can tell you without an air hammer you’ll be looking at 3-4hr job, plenty de block oil, hammering oh and swearing 😂 my dad and I replaced the n/s/r hub today and the old one looked like this when finished 🥵😳
  3. Sure is 😀
  4. Panic over,Autowindscreens are dealing with it 😅 getting it fitted on Tuesday £60 xs. Happy with that considering how much that small piece of glass is.
  5. Yes mate trying the insurance route but autoglass are saying they’ve no stock even tho I’ve gave them Subaru part number and availability.......
  6. Ooofffttt priced this small vent glass today at AF Nobles.......AND £234 plus the vat. last resort me thinks😂
  7. Cheers pal,I’ve no checked anything yet but they certainly know how to loosen yer wallet😂
  8. Thanks pal,I really hope it’s not bonded😬 cheers
  9. Hi lads Any of you guys know where I can get a replacement rear vent window glass, drivers side as per pic? Mines is shattered, wee hole at the bottom right through aswell......I heard a right clatter like a stone hitting the car somewhere a few weeks back but could not see anything on inspection, ive only been out in the car a couple of time since then as ive had an operation. The car has been washed a few times since the infamous clatter but after a 20mile drive today the window is like a big spiders web :-( If its not from my incident a few back then it could be deliberate, kids with stones etc...... The cars booked in at AF Noble tomorrow so i'll ask them about replacement aswell.
  10. Right lads, its been a while since I was last on here but the link for putting the oil light after oil change is spot on.....thanks. I was also told buy a Subaru mechanic to use 5w30 oil c3 grade as this is compatable with the dpf and doesn't mess with the warranty. I work for dingbro and dont not use mann on my Subaru,i use the ADL Blueprint (size wise exactly the same as Subaru filter) a much better filter all round. My Last oil change was less than £30 but I get everything for my own car at cost.......Tomorrow however she's booked into AF Noble for a service (to keep up warranty) so I shall expect a nice wee bill, even though ive just replaced front and rear pads and had the H/brake adjusted etc lol. So anyone looking to change there own oil,If you have a low milage car 0w30 would be fine but a car with say 30k plus then 5w30 is recommended and follow the links regarding resetting the the oil dilution.
  11. All good lads after a visit to my local Subaru dealer, one of the noisey ticking sounds is the injectors and the other noise is the chain but only toutching the guides.....Remember these noises are only intermittent and not constant & the mechanic told me they are noisey engines but good engines!!! Happy with that😃
  12. Great stuff pal, think I'll be giving this a go very soon & I'll keep you all posted how I get on....... thanks again👍
  13. Chain on them buddy....
  14. Ahh rite interesting, does it when warm aswell...... think I may have to visit Subaru again😏 Its more like a chain type rattle if you know what I mean!
  15. Hi lads i know these Diesel engines can be a bit noisey but my engine has bit of a rattle at around 1200-1400k revs other than that it seems ok if I can upload a vid I will👍
  16. Ok lads thanks,I'll have to seriously look into this now as I'm nearing my 5k on the oil lol...... yes good idea with the oil filter location😏
  17. Anyone?
  18. Hey guys Ive always changed my oil every 6k because I like to keep it fairly fresh,Now my question is there any service lights or oil lights come on and need reset after I drop my oil? Also what grade of oil should I use on my xv diesel 2014? Thanks Gus
  19. Hi guys and thanks again for your help and info..... First of all they replaced the alternator tensioner after I highlighted it,let me drive another xv then take the one I bought out and both were pretty smooth regarding the gears,i think I was just getting used to the box lol. Done around 400miles and finding the XV braw to drive now :-)
  20. Right lads thanks for the replys,Ive asked them to check these points out and to go and have another drive in the car just to see if it was just me regarding the gears!!! So Once I'm back from holiday I'll know more....... Also the cars just had the big service,48k on the clock, diff oil etc all done plus new front pads and discs... I'll keep yous up to speed on the outcome.....
  21. Hi mate, and thanks....... Yes I think after speaking to a few mechanics today that they are meant to have slight movement when idleing and maybe a tad more if aircons on. I only found this out this afternoon so im going back to AF Noble to check my future car out as im sure there was noticeable movement. The cause incidently can be the alternator pulley being seized and not the tensioner itself or so im led to believe. Also found 3rd gear once or twice when giving it some beans a tad hard to find, howz yours regarding this (might have been my driving and not being familiar with the box) Thanks again
  22. Anyone help me out here? cars in the dealers so not a big prob to kill the deal
  23. Anyone? could you check youre diesel xv and report back!!
  24. XVGUS

    Hi Chaps

Cheers mate, yes from a Subaru dealer aswell......
  25. Hey lads, hope you can help me with these 2 possible probs, ive posted this down in the xv section aswell just incase its not confined to the diesel xv First of all My xv is a 14plate 2.0 diesel turbo se First Question: Is it normal for the tensioner that located to the right under the alternator to have sideways movement under idle or should it stay still?,cant remember if the aircon was on or off at the time!! Second Question: Can third gear be a pain to slot into when giving the car a bit stick? it was my first time driving an xv so could it be down to my driving style and not being used to the gearbox? I don't want to buy the car if these are issues, its been niggling away at me for a couple of days now.......... Thanks in advance
