Error Code P1507
Hi all, So I've thrown a bit of soapy water on but couldn't see any bubbles anywhere. Unlike this morning, when I started the engine just now it was revving again for 0.5 seconds at a time, every 0.5 seconds for a period of a few seconds before the revs started building up then dropped to about 1200 rpm. If this still sounds like an air leak, I might take a look into Steve's smoke bomb suggestion. I've not cleared the code, is it good practice to do this?

Error Code P1507
I just went and covered in intake and surround with water and it didn't change the engine note at all. Interestingly its idolling normally again, aside from the engine warning light still being on. Any thoughts?

Error Code P1507
Hi all, So after the occasional engine warning light appearance and disappearance after last night the beast is less a beast, more of a geriatric, asthmatic wreak. I've got an error code of P1507 which is: Idle control system malfunction (fail-safe). I've had a bit of dig around the net and it appears that the general consensus is that "idle flap" may need cleaning. Would anyone concur with this? If so, it sounds like a relatively easy job, but I haven't got a clue what or where it is. Has anyone got any info which could help me out? Photos or diagrams would be epic Cheers

Festival of Speed
Hi all, Is anyone planning on attending FoS this year? I'm there for the full event as I work for one of the sponsors, and as Subaru aren't making an appearance I thought it would be cool to get a bit of sanity to cut through the chaos

fault code/engine warning light
Just to piggy back onto this, I've just had an engine warning light come on which Ive had before. It went off after a few days, but to pre-empt it not turning off what diagnostic tools would you guys recommend?

WRX Turbo Upgrade
Hi all, Hope you're all enjoying the sunny BHW. So the hunt for mods has landed me on eBay, and I've found a tubro which looks like it could be a good fit. According to the listing its a "TD05 TD05H 20G Turbo Turbocharger Direct Bolt Subaru IMPREZA WRX STI EJ20 EJ25", but as I only have an 03 WRX I'm not sure how they differ when it comes down to the internals. I contacted the seller and they sent me the attached image with the dimensions of the connections, so I was wondering whether anyone could confirm or deny this would fit? Cheers

Importing Parts
Cheers guys. Jay, who did you use when getting stuff state-side? I totally agreeing with buying from the UK, and if we were talking £50 then I would for sure. But a couple of hundred quid negates that :).

Importing Parts
Hi all, This is more of a general question, but has anyone bought parts from overseas? I'm looking at modding the crap out of my blobeye (over many moons) and looking over the net you can get parts cheaper from overseas, considerably cheaper: e.g. a Perrin FMIC for £1050-1100 rather than £1500-1600. Obviously there are shipping and customs/excise charges (!Removed!) so I was wondering whether anyone has gone down this route, was it actually cheaper etc. If anyone has any recommendations too that would be pretty cool. Cheers Rich

No so funky sounds
Morning all, Seems as though I'm having a few problems of late, all bar one of them seems to be fixed though.... Occasionally, although more frequently now my offside rear passenger door speaker is going crazy. It can go from fine, to slight crackles to a noise than can only be likened to someone tripping over the main speaker lead at the O2, kicking it then reconnecting it (in other words, really ****** loud). The head unit doesn't even have to be on which is even weirder and nothing I do with the dials has any effect. Before I start removing door cards etc has anyone had anything similar to this? Would it suggest a loose connection at the head unit or speaker? Or perhaps a dodgy earth? Everything is OEM regarding the audio so any help would be appreciated. Enjoy your weekend everyone :)

Intermittent Heavy Steering
So after weeks of no one having a clue, replacing parts and considerable expense, it was the steering rack that went. Seems to be alright now although as my MOT has expired during all of this I haven't been able to give it a proper test yet. Incidentally try and get parts second hand as new steering pumps and racks are astronomically expensive lol

Intermittent Heavy Steering
Thanks Gambit. I was under the impression that if there is a problem with the belt etc then there would be an audible whine, is it possible that it could have an issue but not make a sound?

Intermittent Heavy Steering
Hi all, I've got a Blob eye WRX that has recently started developing problems whilst steering. From straight to a direction its a bit heavy, but back to almost straight is fine. Getting it to turn the other way is a real struggle but once turned, the same thing applies. Now I had my tracking done a week or two ago when I originally had this problem which seemed to fix it. Since then its been fine but as of Saturday it went again, but much worse than before. The weird thing however, is that this is intermittent. So on Saturday after I almost wrapped myself round a tree, I pulled over and got on to the phone to various people and 15 mins later I started the car up and went to move it to a better location and for 30-45 seconds was fine but then went heavy again and was a real struggle to steer. I managed to drive home, and for the most part it was horrid, but it would behave as it there was nothing wrong. My power steering fluid is to the max line, so I know its nothing stupid like that but my mates reckon it is probably the power steering pump thats gone or is on the way out. What do you guys reckon?

Hello from Sussex
Hi all, My names Rich and I live in Worthing, West Sussex. I've just posted my first topic so I thought I'd say hello as well.....hello!! I'm currently on my 2nd scoob, which is a WRX blobeye, but before that I had a classic dc sports special. I'm hoping to get a lot of info from the members and I'm looking forward to being part of the community :)

Front mounted Intercooler Fitting
Hi all, I've got a 03 blobeye WRX and I'm looking at getting a front mounted intercooler for it. Ebay is currently coming up trumps but the fitting of it is somewhat beyond my capabilities. I'm looking for suggestions/recommendations of places where I can get it fitted. I'm on the south coast so the nearer to the Brighton area the better but can travel. Also, am I right in thinking that I should get it retuned after the intercooler has been fitted? Any help is very much appreciated Rich
