briano Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Hi all Just picked up an s turbo, 195k on the clock and drives great. Its got a few spots of rust and some dents etc given its age, but has anyone encountered rust around the windscreen and is it treatable without pulling the glass out
Gambit Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Hi mate welcome to S.O.C It is common with Subaru for it to get there as the rubber hold all the nasties in the part around the top of the windscreen even mine has it too :( but it's not too bad at the minute Only real way is to have it taken out and a body shop repair so would be pretty costly £400 I'd have a guess at. But That is just a guess I know nothing about respraying :)
quit Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 yeah ive got a big about the size of a 2p piece, its not great as it always catches my eye my solution is to rub it right down, treat it with some rust treatment then primer and cover in vinyl!
briano Posted December 3, 2014 Author Posted December 3, 2014 Thanks for the replies Bit more than 2p piece on my car easily a couple of pounds worth. Doubt I will get it sprayed but will rub t down and spray it up to stop it getting worse 1
Gambit Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 I'd go the cheaper route to :D Unless it was really bad :)
quit Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 that rust treatment stuff is pretty good if your delicate, hard getting the crap rust out tho
briano Posted December 4, 2014 Author Posted December 4, 2014 Can I find the colour coded on the vin?
stants Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 Yep, it's a two tone colour code same as mine, Off the top of my head I can't remember what it's called
stants Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 If yours is 6w2 it breaks down as this 49BSlate Metallic 64CAcadia Green Metallic
