I am 18 and own an impreza 1.5 R and would like to upgrade it to a better performance car , my brother has a evo 10 and is helping me out but i would like some advice where to start.

The looks are sorted it now has a carbon fibre bonnet to give it the aggressive look as seen on my picture but i need advice now on what to do next to physically make it faster louder and basically starting its steps towards being a WRX.

The picture is the before and after from when i first got it and now.

Any advice would be great

Yeah there isn't a great deal for na's or without spending serious cash

looking good, nice bit of CF that, as mentioned above already so focus on weight loss and chassis upgrades so power to weight ratio increased, look at suspension, arb's larger light weight wheels bigger brakes all to help stopping and turning capability, look at removing excess stuff - eg do you use the back seat?

Sorry this is my first car so abit new to all this , what do you mean when you say my car is n/a?

I have a new air filter put on for the intake system but not sure what else to do ?

the wheels and Tyers are still as standard so i will be fixing that shortly and hopefully getting a seconds hand set of break pads and disks from a wrx if any of you know if they will fit my car please let me know.

The exhaust system is also being changed to a single pipe rather than having all the silencers it has on at the moment

n/a basically means that your car is Naturally Aspirated as opposed to turbo or supercharged.

Really only real things you can do is weight reduction and focus on brakes and handling to make it quick. Remaps can improve it too with some mods but not get a lot from it. Maybe 30+ bhp if you're lucky and not a cheap option for that little amount of gains [emoji20] and to get a turbo charge engine to swap isnt cheap or easy either [emoji20]

But the car looks nice mate. And for a 1st car I think it's an excellent choice wish my 1st car was as good [emoji2] and like that you had to show your brother what a real car is over the evo [emoji23]

Thanks for the help just wanted something to make it a little more speedy don't get me wrong i am chuffed with the car i love it i had my heart set on a subaru but at 18 stood no chance of a turbo model so this suits me perfectly

We've all been there mate I had a 1.6 escort and was always wanting gti or a cosworth. By about 26 had the bugeye and loved it still have it now. Bearing in mind was cheaper then on insurance wasn't anywhere how hard it is now for new drivers. And good starting point to learn from ready to step up on the turbos too. [emoji106]

But as I said anything you can reduce the weight will be key for more power. [emoji6] but also will help the handling and modifications and braking in turn meaning more speed on corners. But thats to encourage you to speed of course [emoji6] we don't do things like that. [emoji2]
