Button type switch on Forester tailgate

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

I have just joined the forum and have a query.

I own a 2010 Forester 2.0D XS Nav Plus, purchased last September. I previously owned a 54 Reg Forester purchased new in 2004.

I have noticed a button switch on the tailgate but cannot find to what it relates..

I have attached photos and would be grateful if anyone can solve the mystery.

Agreed I would say it was to open the boot from the outside. if it's not is there any chance of a wide angle shot of the under side that's you have taken that picture :D

And welcome to the forums :) your car looks very tidy.

Thanks guys for the response.

I have since found - by trial and error - that the button on the tailgate locks all doors when pressed!

This saves having to press the lock symbol on the remote keyless fob, which is what I do after closing the tailgate.

I just hadn't noticed the switch until the other day.

Thanks again :D

Well I'm glad was not a £100,000,000 question :)

At least you figured it out and Jay and I have now learned something new :D
