well had rac out and they couldnt say what it could be so back to square one

I would drain and refill the cooling system, it's cheap and easy to do and may well solve the problem.

bleed the system there was no bubbles in the overflow tank both top and
bottom rad hoses where hot but the heaters where cold

Could be an airlock, i'd let it cool and try again tomorrow. May pull some coolant back and give you an indication of how much is in the system

im going to ring the garage where i bought it from tomorrow and let them sort it out
