Steering problem

Featured Replies

Hi all

I am having a problem with my steering on my legacy estate 2010 auto

It feels stiff and not as smooth as I think it should be, when you have turned the wheel to the left and then go to turn it back to middle it's as if it sticks.

I haven't had a chance to take it to be checked yet, just wondering has any one any ideas ? post-1682-142886892796_thumb.jpg

I'd have a look at tightening the power steering belt sounds like that's gone a bit slack. what I'd check first just a few turns then check the tension on the belt. [emoji4]

Did you try tighten up the belt ? or is that what you're taking it in for :D

It might sound incredibly stupid/obvious, but have you checked your tyre pressures? My stepdad thought his steering was locking up when he was reversing on his bmw, turned out the tyre pressures were just a bit lower than they should be.

Thanks widesam but I check my tyre pressures regularly [emoji2]. I emailed Martin an d he said it could be something to do with the electric steering [emoji17]
