stants Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Notice you have a v1/2 with the slanty cooler, I have a v3/4 cooler sat in my man cave fairly easy uprate/mod if your interested [emoji51] 1
Rick 2014 Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Hi ive just looked at mine. The top water feed pipe is easy peasy. For the lower one you will need nose pliers with a l shaped bend to pull the clip of the water hose. There is a lower bracket which you will need a small ratchet for then undo the banjo bolt and slide the banjo pipe out.I tried taking a picture but its hidden behind my hoses
Samuel_Kelham Posted May 24, 2015 Author Posted May 24, 2015 Ive got that tools rick it just seems very fiddly.. i was told i could looseb the turbo and ease it over. . So i van get to the bottom pipe.. however i dont no what i have to take off to get there :s what sort of clip is it just a pull one?
Rick 2014 Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 No need to remove turbo mate trust me,why make more work for yourself if you don't need to
Rick 2014 Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Looks roughly like this down below http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-x-Mikalor-Metal-SPRING-BAND-CLIP-TYPE-Silicone-Hose-Clamp-Fuel-Pipe-Oil-Lines-/251162915816?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item3a7a79f3e8
Samuel_Kelham Posted May 26, 2015 Author Posted May 26, 2015 My bottom feed is directly below the top feed and as you can see its reaaly tight. .. u sure i can get to it buddy? Look awfully tight to be doing.. i can see 3 bolts that have been teplaced on the turbo bracket but i dont know what else i need to undo to get proper acces.. want to make sure its tight first time
stants Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Remove the intercooler, it's only that jubilee clip and the two 12 or 14mm bolts on the sides of the i/c will give you loads of access 1
Samuel_Kelham Posted May 26, 2015 Author Posted May 26, 2015 Ok mate ill see how i get on still waiting for parts from japan
Samuel_Kelham Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 I am stumped guys. .. cnt figure out how i get the turbo off..ive undone thr 3 brackets that sit to the left of the turbo all pipes are off including exhaust clamps but i cannot manovoure the turbo so it can come it the turbine blades foul the turbo so i cannot pull it off
stants Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 You need to undo the 4 or 5 bolts on the downpipe which is a challenge in it's self. If you've already done the up pipe bolts it should just come away
Samuel_Kelham Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 Ill have a go stants wish i never started this lol never would of imagined its such a tight fidley job
Samuel_Kelham Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 Ill need to get underneath to do these wont i?
stants Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 The ones round the top and the studs are fairly easy, it's the one underneath between the turbo and pipe that's a f****r to get at a flexible 14mm socket is the easiest option, do you have a new downpipe gasket aswell ? I notice the lambda sensor hole is bunged up behind the turbo, have you relocated it ?
stants Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 If you were closer i'd have offered a hand mate as it's easier with two people,
Samuel_Kelham Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 2 lambda sensors dont no weather there correct mate
Samuel_Kelham Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 And yes 2x gaskets...one other question stants when taking the turbo out how do i go about taking the pipe underneath off i can 'just' see the clip can i pull it up slighlty to unclip ot is this another fiddly underneath job?
stants Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Good man it would be a pain in the !Removed! to re attach it all then have 5o change the gasket in a month due to it blowing, Looks like ones been moved or someone's put a thread in for a wideband afr
