So still trying to sort everything out that the divvy tinkered with on this impreza. I have found a vaccum hose that comes of the the manifold and goes to a 3 way connector, its not a normal plastic joint, it is a metal block with a very narrow pipe coming off it, looks like it could be factory fitted but not sure this pipe goes off and is plugged at the end, the other connector goes to the boost solenoid near the drivers side wing. any advice would be appreciated.

Without seeing the other end it'd be hard to say. Could be a t piece someone put in for a boost gauge. Looks more like a cable for a sensor. So could be an electric gauge. Can you trace it?

it is cable tied to the wiring loom, with a bolt in it to stop it leaking :/ doesnt look factory then?

Doesn't look factory at all. The cable tie and blue vac hose give it away. The black pipe goes to inlet mani? Where do the blue vac and black cable go to?

Black pipe goes to bottom of boost solenoid, blue goes to manifold and the cable looking thing is cut off and blocked

Cant say that this is fun. Sick to death of all the stupid things the previous owner has botched! I had one of the HID headlights go out so after check the bulb i took a look at the wiring, the earth cable wasnt connected to anything! !!

Wow. That's the problem picking up someone's project. It's a good learning curve and a no ding process for you and the car. I was lucky to have fully standard so everything I've done I know where it is and what it goes too.

This is a monster of a mess up and a monster of a clean up before it can become anything like a project for me!

Im learning to never buy someone elses project!

Could get overboost and the effects of fuel cut. Could cause hesitation. I have a picture of the set up looking at the boost solenoid. Just borrowed it from Google.

Ok the car was boosting around 9-10psi wether i had the standard ecu or the gems ecu in. The top and bottom hoses where the wrong way round, its supposed to be running 285bhp on the gems ecu boost peaked at around 19psi does this sound right?! Unfortunately i only got 2 miles down the road and a hose split?!

Posted

19 psi is 1.3 bar. Sounds about right for a remap to make 285. 10psi is 0.7 bar. Standard boost.

You not had a chance to drive it with the pipes in the right way round?

I had a quick go! Was like a completely different car but hose split :( going to try and get one but doubt anywhere local will do one!

Pop on eBay and get some next day delivery vac lines. Always good to have plenty spare. Did we get to the bottom of your original issue? I've got a bit lost.

Just read back over the thread if that pipe goes from manifold to bottom of boost solenoid it's in the wrong place.

From the manifold it wants to go in the sensor above the solenoid. The bottom of the solenoid wants to go into the intake pipe pre-turbo
