Miggs
Welcome to the forum, sounds like you have a De cat pipe fitted, mine does it too, especially when I've been booting it and the turbo is red hot, you might get the odd flame too
Gambit
Hi mate will say welcome again :) now you have your own Topic ;) Might have had a bit of a remap too with the pops and bangs added :D
Miggs
if it's been remapped you can make the pops and bangs happen at will, in any gear take it to 3.5k rpm's, let off the throttle and when it drops to 3k rpm hold the throttle at that revs if you can, if it's been remapped it will bang until you change revs, if it's just a decat causing it then it's a similar principal but with 2.5k rpm and it isn't guaranteed to happen with just a decat, but will do it more when hot than cold
Scooby Pete
Weclome and another vote for having a decat fitted. Easiest way to tell is look under the car and if the the exhaust pipes are the same diameter all the way along you have decats fitted. There are normally 2 cats you can sdee quite easily. the 1st one will be coming from the back of the turbo. If you look at the back of the turbo and there is a bulge and like the one in this pic (pics are not correct for your car just gives an idea of what to look for. It has a cat on the Down pipe. If there is no bulge its a decat if it has a smaller Bulge but no heat sheilding it will have a Sports/high flow cat. The centre pipe has a cat near the front If there is no bulge its a decat.

Scooby Pete
Forgot to say, If you do have a full De-cat bear in mind it will more than likley fail an MOT. Maybe it would be a good Idea to run it round to a local subaru specialist to give it a once over confirm the decat situation. Looking at Scobbynet it seems (SW) MOTORSPORT- 07956119962 in Penicuik was getting rave reviews.

Miggs
Yeh I can get tickets over the phone but I'd rather know what's wrong, my tester tells me then when he's given me the fail sheet he tells me what needs doing for him to pass it, he told me to price up the standard system before he gave me a pass, when I told him it was near £800 for the cats he said "I'll go print your pass certificate" lol
