Hi Guys,

My name is Jason and I just thought I would introduce myself to the forum as I'm about to purchase my first Scooby. I've wanted one for a few years and now due to change of job (not traveling to work) I'm able to get one.

So I've been looking for about 3 weeks now and I've found one that I really like. I'm going to view this tomorrow and all being well drive it home.

I have done my own research but I would love to know peoples opinion of things to look out for when buying.

The car is here ---> http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/subaru/impreza-sti/subaru-impreza-2-5-wrx-sti-type-uk--370bhp--over-10k-spent-one-of-a-kind/4513906

So what I'm seeking advise about is...

The power. As nice as 370bhp sounds I'm just wondering is this realistic from just a remap and a few mods? The seller does have the dyno print outs and of course I will check these before buying.

Also is there anything else I should look out for?

As you can image I'm very excited so I don't want to be blinded by anything.

Thanks to everyone in advance for any help.

Andy forest has a very good rep, and the 2.5s can make good power especially in sti spec with a tune. The 2.5 does have a reputation for piston ring land failure which is one of the reasons I was put off the 2.5 but there's loads out there without issues. Seems to have been loved if all the receipts are there. I'm not a fan of the spoiler but that's my personal taste and being picky so don't let it out you off!

I think it will struggle to make 370bhp with just a filter, exhaust and a remap. There must be some mods missing off the list for that power.

It looks like the previous owners have looked after it and spent money on it :)
