Black plastic filler?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

So my splitter has been broken. I made a small plate to hold it together and it looks fine but there is 2 small gaps where it joins back together.

It's a black plastic splitter not painted so I am looking for something to fill it with that will dry and could even be sanded. That looks like black plastic.

Not sure if anyone has any ideas. One option would be to get it filled and painted but I have a feeling in a few months it will be damaged and need painting again. So would like to avoid painting if there is another option.

Thanks for any help.

Alex

Used to be able to get a hot plastic glue gun bumper repair kit, then respray in bumper paint when I worked in a body shop as a trainee many moons ago. Don't know if it was trade only but something similar must be available

I ended up using black epoxy resin I think, as it's a little more flexible and only cost about 5 quid, obviously if you want a more professional job i'd look at something a bit better
