Spenceeyboy Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 1:has anyone fitted a hydraulic handbrake to a bugeye before? And if so is there a how to guide? 2: has anyone done a rear wheel drive conversion on a bugeye? And again is there a how to guide.or a build thread or something as a rough guide?
Gambit Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Not done either sorry but the rear wheel drive isn't too hard, basically you have to take out the front axles and weld up the front diff. But you have other factors to take in like the suspension set up and so on. I have to ask why would you want to do it ? Are you wanting it to be a drift car ?
Spenceeyboy Posted December 8, 2015 Author Posted December 8, 2015 I'm.considering drifting it like if I was gonna do a conversion then now would be the time to do it 1
Gambit Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I'll see if I can find a guide for you. Not sure on everything you will need to get it to full drift spec but be interesting to see. ;)
Spenceeyboy Posted December 8, 2015 Author Posted December 8, 2015 Cheers mate its appreciated like because there's no other rear wheel drive Scoobys in my area haha
Gambit Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Only thing I could find is on an american subaru forum but some good info here mate :) http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/powertrain/27532-converting-awd-2wd-rwd-w-pics.html
Scooby Pete Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I know that Jap performance parts drft car is a scoob Shell with r32 Skyline running gear. TBH it would prob be eaiser and cheaper to buy an old BMW E36 or Nissan 200SX than convert the scoob whcih aren't generally considered good drift platforms.
Gambit Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I'd agree getting a rear wheel drive car would be easier. But I'm all for see a project thread started ;)
Jay762 Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Think I saw something in one of the jap car mags on a drift scoob will have a mooch although having owned a 200sx I would plumb for one of those as suggested ☺
