I have previously owned a 1996 scooby wagon wrx and foolishly sold it to get back into offroading, well I have sold the mudplugger and just purchased a 03 plate wagon WRX PPP with a blown bottom end....so I was wondering if I should replace/rebuild the 2.0l turbo unit or replace with with a short engine 2.5. will the head ect bolt straight on? Jay762 Posted December 20, 2015 Share Posted December 20, 2015 Wotcha and welcome - I would go with first option for simplicity but build a higher spec, lightened, balanced, knife-edged, coated crank etc then get it set up properly with a map.
