Induction kit

Featured Replies

I am looking to put an induction kit on my 2004, is there any advice out there as to which ones to use?

You'll most likely just get it worse. The usual advice regarding induction kits is: just don't.

So would you recommend an air filter system then?

Our air boxes are apparently very good so unless you have big power mods just get yourself cotton panel filter and it will breathe better :) I will be buying one myself this weekend, Cosworth probably...

All I really want is a nice sucking sound as you accelerate, not looking to do massive power to be fair

Well, you can always try one. I don't really know any particular ones to recommend but I guess general advice is to get best one you can afford and make sure its some good brand :)

Thank you for your advice buddy

If you do go down that route try and get one that goes into the void in the inner wing least it will stop some of the heat soak you get inside the bay

Does that involve any cutting?

It shouldn't. There is already a hole in the wing behind standard airbox. So your induction kit would need a long pipe and an actual filter to be fitted on the other side of that hole

Ok cool, would you be able to recommend one?

No idea, sorry. Just last piece of advice, after you fit one, get the afr checked in the garage. They recommend car to be mapped for it but have it checked at least to avoid any fuelling issues:thumbs_up:

If you want all the sucking noises with the standard airbox, you can remove the airbox resonator :D

I put a cheap eBay short unductiin kit on my 2003 blob wrx, it sounded awesome, I cut a 100mm round hole in the bonnet above it and fitted a little scoop to feed it cold air, looked good, the car had loads more acceleration but would not rev past about 5000rpm, then the filter fell to bits, so I replaced the filter with a foam one, then got a lean cel code, put the original air box back on, car was overall much happier, but I really missed the induction noise, it is properly addictive, get a goodun and get it mapped, you won't be disappointed
