Im thinking about getting an impreza again, I have previously owned 2 different 2.0 sports  with123bhp and a 2.5 legacy which was great.

I now compete in road rally so cant use turbo, the 2.0 sports were a bit slow and the legacy will be too big

Are there some good remaps for the sport and / or exhaust system to get nearer to 150hp?

I would prefer a classic as they seem to be 200kg lighter (if this is correct?) then the 2.0r with 158bhp, though the later model is an option

My legacy 2.5 was a cracking motor - is it a straight drop in job to put a 2.5 into a classic sport?

Wotcha and welcome - if the 2.5 lump is a 4 cylinder it will go in - not sure with the legacy if it is a 6 cylinder or not though??

yea legacy 2.5 is 4 cylinder, what about ecu/ loom etc is it all interchangable or is there a seperate engine only loom on the 2.5 which goes with it? I was thinking about getting a the complete legacy (cheap hopefully!) to utilise what is needed but dont want a major project just a qucik (ish) swap. Has anyone else done this mod?
