SOSHY Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Hi there all, Just after a little advice first time owning a Impreza. I am getting a clunking sound from the front left when I'm going over any kind of bump no matter how big or small? any suggestions what this could be? its a 2003 wrx if that's any help Cheers in advance
Scoobyghost Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Does it sound like a twang too? A clunk is usually a bush giving up.
stants Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Could be many things, Ball joint, arb droplinks, arb bush, suspension topmount, Start with the ball joint, Jack car up give the offending wheel a wiggle see if there's any play, also get a pry bar between the arm and see if there's any up down movement, Then the rest would be visual inspection of the bushes, if you end up changing them and it still persists i'd hazard a guess at the top mount but as they are the most expensive of the list, start by eliminating everything else before changing that
SOSHY Posted March 29, 2016 Author Posted March 29, 2016 It's just a clunking sound as if something is loose. I will start like you guys have said with the ball joint and work my way around. Cheers guys 1
