jasond1989 Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Hi all, I have a uk2000 W reg, i have only had her on the road for 3 days and have notice a few problems if anyone is able to help me with 1) When at 2,500rpm it feels like its holding back but if i keep accelerating it kinda kicks in and off it goes 2) When accelerating I get a continuous hiss coming from drivers side of the engine until i let off the throttle and then it continues again. Thank You
Scoobyghost Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Sounds like an air leak. Check all boost pipes are connected and not split. Check any jubilee clips on intake pipes. Have a good look around and stick your ear under the bonnet, give her a rev then try to pinpoint the hiss.
savage bulldogs Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Sounds like possibly a air intake or boost leak . As either 1 of those would give a "hissing" sound and lack of power . Try checking for any loose pipe clips or cracks in the pipework from the maf (just after the air filter) to turbo intake . Then from turbo outlet (under the top mount intercooler ) to throttle body. Also check any of the small bore vacuum pipes for cracks as these can also leak boost and are prone to perishing . If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
