jasond1989
Hi all, I have a Uk2000 turbo, i have not long owned this vehicle but thought i had a decent runner until things started going down hill. I had to replace the turbo with another td04 because of a lot of play, I have cleaned the throttle position sensor and the one above it (plunger type) as well as replaced the knock sensor - all was running ok. I took it for a spin and noticed its still hesitating from 2000rpm up to 3000rpm - after that its fine, i returned to mates garage and left the car for a few hours and then drive home, its got worse, the car is running lumpy to the point of cutting out the idle is all over the place and there is a nasty burny smell coming from the exhaust - I am stumped as well as my mate too, if anyone could shed some light on this it would be much appreciated. Buggyeye
Leftover oil in the exhaust for the smell? As for the running issues it could be made sensor?
Scoobyghost
Check for air leaks after the maf. That could explain lumpy running. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
jasond1989
i've had a replacement inlet pipe put on last week, i originally thought it was fuel starvation or along the lines of spark plugs failing between 2k-3krpm until an awful 5 minute drive home without boost started
stants
Was an ecu re set done after changing the sensors ? The tps and knock sensor have to go back in at exactly the same position as they come out, otherwise it will run crap, Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
jasond1989
update after using the cars built in obd here are the codes as follows: 22 Knock Sensor 23 Mass air flow sensor 31 Throttle position sensor 45 Map sensor 24 Idle air control sensor (usually companied by running too fast/Slow) 32 O2 Sensor i can only assume the knock sensor is coming up as its detected poor running,

Scoobyghost
Clear those codes and let it log any new ones. Some vital sensors showing errors there.

Scoobyghost
You can remove the negative for a while or there is a longer version. There is a guide in the forum somewhere showing how to do it.
jasond1989
i removed the negative wire, I took the car out for a drive and it all started playing up again, kangarooing between 2k-3k, there is no pipes split, the boost solenoid has been cleaned out, the idle sensor above the throttle position sensor was also cleaned out with carb cleaner
