Hi all. Just bought myself another subaru. Been away for too long. Anyway its completely standard bar a wr sport backbox and panel filter upgrade. Noticed earlier the tyres are 225 45 17. Got my eye on a set of prodrive wheels and tyres with 205 45 17. Would these fit ok? Its a 2002 uk bugeye wrx ive got. And the wheels im thinking of are fitted to a 2005 blob. Cheers. Steve.

Welcome back to burble n boost bud [emoji41]

Blob and bug wrx's run the same hub centers and brakes (unless ones a sti with the bigger Brembo set up) so clearance and offset shouldn't be a issue Afaik .

If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊

The blob isnt a sti so should fit fine. Its just the tyre size that concerns me. Is 205 45 17 ok to fit on a bugeye as ive read that 215 is the minimum?

I'd personally prefer the widest tyres I can fit (better traction and wider track ) .

I had 04 wrx rims on my classic with 4 pot calipers ,so I'm sure that they'll fit but unsure about the minimum width spec they recommend .

My wrx has 225 45 17 at the minute but there garbage tyres and the road noise is horrible. Probably be better off buying some decent tyres tbh as my alloys are in good nick.

The tyres would be ok but as previous I would really suggest 225 45 17.  The best way to sum it up is you'll get an extra 80mm surface contact, which is a lot and esp when you have power through all four corners!  Goodyear F1 AS2 are cheap.
