Hello everybody,

The Volvo V40 that we bought second hand 10 years ago finally died and we are looking for something equally reliable and long lasting to replace it with. A friend suggested a Subaru and we are going to test drive a 2013 XV 2l petrol automatic next week.

Is there anything we should look for / be aware of?

My husband is worried that because Subarus are uncommon parts, servicing etc. will be expensive. Is he right?

Would be really grateful for any advice ... am a complete Newbie and NOT knowledgable about cars!

With many thanks,
Andrea.

First off RIP volvo :(

Service issues are a myth, parts arn't hard to come by and cost wise depends if you go to a dealer or not.

As tidgy says, as long as you don't go the main dealer route for your parts they are around the same as most other manufacturers
