Hi please can someone shed some light, I'm looking for an induction kit, seen some universal ones in Halfords but not sure if they'll be any good. Had a look at k&n but they are all for the wrx/Sti and come with pipes that won't fit mine so seem like a waste of money.

I already have a piper cross panel filter in the box but the air intake sucks. I toyed with a second intake but there's nowhere to run one with how the radiator sits and no access to the front grills. Rather not start drilling holes in the bumper or removing the guard under the front end with how much it rains

After the winter I'll be getting an exhaust and remap since mines rusted as hell anyway. Get salt for 4-5 months on the roads so no point doing it yet.

Thanks

not found one myself yet - will do some more digging - not sure how much you will gain as a high flow filter is good, even on the turbo models

You dont really gain anything apart from a more throaty sound some say the car feels more responsive but its debatable with the wrx model the standard panel filter is fine untill the 300bhp mark and im assuming yours isnt over that?could put the money towards the exhaust insted?

Na just the standard 150bhp. Unless the panel filter gave me a major boost lol. Probably pointless anyway since 99.9% of air goes to radiator and 0.01% if I'm lucky actually goes up into the intake. Stupid design the framework doesn't even angle up towards the intake it's just flat metal with tiny gaps leading straight up.

Need to leave the bonnet on the latch to actually get any air directly in. Surely the wrx and Sti have a better intake system

You should have a feed pipe directly to the airbox - is yours there?

I can remember when i was 18 and i made my own indiction system out of a cheap eBay cone filter and some 3" downpipe for a gutter lol it gave at least 400bhp extra in my head to my 1.8sri astra loooool

Yeah mines the same but I followed the holes where the air comes in and it's a joke. The bonnet covers that feed pipe and its sealed when the bonnets shut. Only the top three grill holes let air in and it's against a flat framework so it doesn't even angle up into the feed pipe

Subaru will have spent thousands developing that so i dare so unless your going to build a drag car you should be ok

As you have a high flow panel filter already in place look to a high flow exhaust system to match, then go for a map to tune to the parts. After that I would look at induction - but that is just my opinion, particularly as aftermarket kits for these are not readily available

Fair enough just my opinion like. Aye sounds like a plan think I found and exhaust just need to send the seller a message see if it'll fit.

Thanks
