My wrx bugeye wagon head gasket has gone and looking for a replacemet engine

You'd be better off getting a proper rebuild.

A rebuild (whilst being slightly more in cost upfront) will give you a known baseline and peace of mind - a replacement engine may let go as it will be an unknown
