January 2, 20179 yr Hello from Ireland, I am currently saving up for a 1996-1997 Impreza WRX STI (Maybe a Type R) as standard as possible. I started thinking about getting one a few months ago when I seen the value to be had. First was looking at the UK model, then the WRX and now decided I really should get a STI. With the issues that Im seeing with Rust on UK imports Im thinking of getting one direct from Japan. I want something that has been well looked after. Anyway back to saving........
January 2, 20179 yr They don't salt the roads in Japan so better chance of a good one but they have some coastal areas like us so in a 20 yr old car expect some rot personally the money to get one imported I would just buy a nice uk one that's undersealed
January 2, 20179 yr Author Well I'm currently saving as the Sti is a bit more than what I originally had in mind. I am keeping an eye on whats available in the UK and Japan and see what happens. Is the Type R that much better than the STI V3-4?
January 3, 20179 yr very different car, short ratio box, less sound deadening, dccd etc love my type r, but its no where near standard any more haha
