I was wondering can anyone out there recondition my wrx 1996 gearbox there a crunch going in to fifth

Scooby clinic can do it told me £750 tho couple other places out there will do it I've been going through the same but gone second hand now only £150

I paid 510 for all new seals, 3 new bearings and 2 new synchro. If you're only crunching 5th then minimum work is 5th gear synchro although given the age of the car you're better off asking whoever does the work to inspect all bearings and bobbins then replace as necessary.

5th gear synchro can be done without splitting the box, so depends what route you wanna go
