Tommyh
right then recently had my wrx 1995 import heads skimmed took the engine out as it seemed easier now I’m desperate for help just put the engine back in the car and it’s running a bit lumpy I’m thinking because I forgot to number the injector plugs so on the injector plugs I have a yellow and blue plug either side which I have plugged into the rear ones then I have a yellow and green plug which is in the passenger front and then a brown and yellow into the drivers front would that be fine or is there a certain way they have to plug in also I have no boost at all when I rev the actuator isn’t pulling I can move the bar with my hands but won’t work off the throttle I’m stuck for options and have looked on every page I can but can’t find anything thanks for any help
stuartie
I currently have the engine out of my 1992 v1 wrx import and have just had the heads done and i'm putting it all back together as we speak, i take it with the injectors you are meaning the wire colours as on my engine all the injector plugs are grey however on the looms going to each injector the ones that go to the front injectors have a little white tag round them as you can see in the pic As for no boost i would check all vac lines and boost pipes just incase there's something loose or leaking 👍
Tommyh
yes mate mine are the same both grey but the wires on each plug have a different colour I have one plug out of all 4 with a label on saying f on it so I’m guessing that’s front so I put that in passenger side front which leaves the blue and yellow wire plug to the rear so I have put the blue and yellow plug opersit side in the rear to match and the brown and yellow in the front so guessing that will be right
stuartie
Not sure to be honest because mine has the white tags on both sides so haven't payed attention to the wire colours but I'll take some pics of the wire colours and which injector they relate to tomorrow when back at work as thats where the engine is at the moment, thats if you can wait that long 😉👍
Tommyh
Yeah mate that’s great thanks a lot for that and well I’ll be waiting a lot longer if I can’t get any answer because it will be on fire 😡😀
Tommyh
Also checked pipes there all fine I have a few sucking but no vacuums blowing I can’t see what it is the arm on the actuator pulls if I do it with my hand but not by Rev it goes to 0 on the gauge and that’s it I’m wondering if the turbo is seized in some way
stuartie
Not sure mate as i'm still learning my way around these engines, hopefully someone will be along with the answers though, i do know theres a restrictor pill in the line somewhere, i think near the boost solenoid and if ot falls out it can cause bother so could be that but like i say not really sure bud
Tommyh
OH right hopefully someone will know where it is I don’t know what the pill thing looks like lol
savage bulldogs
If its misfiring badly, intercooler or intake pipe not sealed , timing out ,wrong firing order or a few other things could cause limited boost . So I'd try to sort the rough running first , fella .I assume its a v2 with phase 1 inlet manifold set up , so it has a top entry turbo and seperate coilpacks per cylinder ?If so Have you plugged the coilpacks in the right way round , double checked the timing marks , all vac and intake pipework ect ?Any ecu codes ?The spark plugs might show you a specific cylinder at fault by being a different colour to the rest or wet with fuel /oil
Tommyh
Savage do you know the firing order or have a diagram and Is it possible to change the firing order by the spark plugs ? Also do you have a way the coil packs should be plugged in just to double check thanks mate
stuartie
Sorry matey i never managed to get pics of the injector wiring as got called out on a breakdown and never got back to the workshop, will definitely get them tomorrow 👍
savage bulldogs
I did a newage coilpack conversion a while ago so I'm not 100% sure on the right colour .But i think its the lighter coloured engine loom coilpack plugs that go to the rear cylinder coilpacks on each side /bank .It's definitely same colour at the rear of the engine on both sides though
