Hi car runs well but not always runs high boost normal 1 - 1.2 some times only runs 0.5 any ideas

Could do with some more information. Does it do it at particular times? What car is it?

Definitely do this but check for any vacuum leaks and possible wastage actuator issues out of interest how are you getting these boost readings?

It happens on and off readings are on pod gauge it is a 2003 wrx estate

Could possibly be the boost controller in the ECU if no aftermarket boost controller fitted

Could be a sensor getting an incorrect reading somewhere causing the ECU to cut boost down

Or a sticky actuator
