davidtraxler Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 Hi everyone! I’ve just purchased an 05 outback 3.0R with FSH and 150k for what I hope was a good price! But now that I’ve got it, it needs an oil change and probably an ATF change looks a bit dark. I’d also like a mechanic to take a look over and make sure I’m not heading towards a disaster, especially as a P0028 code was thrown on my drive home yesterday 30miles down the motorway. So I’m looking for a Subaru specific garage in the northwest, any help? Thanks! David
shms Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 dirty oil can be a symptom of getting that code up (among other things) change it + gen' subaru filter then see... oh and welcome..can't help with garage as darn sarf !
GeoffLeggy Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 Welcome David! Yes start with a nice service but did the garage you bought it from not do it? Maybe drain it out and put in some top brand oil anyway. There are other things that is could be as shms says. See how you go and let us know. Unfortunatly I’m not familiar with specialists to recommend up your way.
davidtraxler Posted June 15, 2018 Author Posted June 15, 2018 Thanks both, hoping the oil change sorts it. Found a local garage who is 'familiar' with Subarus so it's a start. The garage didn't do a thing to it, as it was a p/x to clear. I purchased knowing it needed a service, I'm sure they were laughing at me crawling around on the floor looking at every details before asking them to knock £400 off 😄 1

Walleye60 Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 Cheers David I know Paul personally I didnt realise he was still working but on another note I was looking through the receipts which came with the Fossie I have just bought and noticed that Carlton Garage replaced the cam belt two years ago and not a bad price considering
