Hi

I've just bought my first Subaru and I love it. It's a 2010 Legacy. But I cannot get the navigation to work because the home town starting point is in Russia. I've tried everything and my techy son has had a look too. Does anyone know how I change this? I noticed today there is a mini sd card in there. Is it anything to do with this?

hi karen, i'm pretty sure 2010 leggys had core2 dvd navigation...if you've got sd card maybe it's not the original head unit.

you can get maps/updates from subaru toolbox(and elsewhere) but i was under the impression that only applied to recent model years.

i'm sure someone with more info will be along to help. 🙂

This is the unit, I think it is original. The top gps button has an sd card behind it. But are you saying I could get a disc to update it?

Thanks for your reply btw.

if i've got this right you should be able to scroll thru menu and set to UK as opposed to russia, i think it comes with various language/country options.

i'm not familiar with that unit tbh. i think it uses a 3or 4G sim card, either way it's a big step up from mine.

you need someone with more ICE knowledge !! (or try a Subaru main dealer) (or local car entertainment specialists)

hopefully a member here can help you more 🙂

Thanks Shms

I have been able to set it to the uk but it defaults back to Russia when I hit navigate after putting in the uk address and it tells me how to get there from Russia lol....

Is that def the right picture, from what i can tell its aftermarket, not factory unit?

yes Tidgy it's the correct picture of the unit I have in my Subaru. So it's aftermarket, hmm must have been put in by a Russian person then although I'm only 3rd owner of car and I knew the second owner so must have been first owner

Thanks anyway

yeah looks it, tbh you could either replace it with another double din sat nav (seem to be £150 ish for eBay special ), or just get a tom tom.
