Hello again people, still havnt got my head round these forums, so sorry if im in the wrong place or anything.

Ok my car is overheating basicly, water boils up n shoots out the overflow hose, (in the bottom right coolent pipe thing) any ideas?

Ive changed the thermostat, changed the rad and used a rad flush.

Still doing it.

The hose from the turbo blew a hole on the way back from hospital with new born on board, was not happy

Please help.

Also oil has no greyish color.

Thanks guys

sorry to have to say this but it sounds like you may have head gasket failure mate, sludgy oil usually indicates oil and water mixing which is one sign and the excess pressure build up is another :(

The oil looks fine though bud. :s

It does yes. Any ideas?

it sounds like the coolant isn't flowing around the system - if you have already changed the thermostat I would now investigate the pump itself

  • Author

Ok how can i test or see if the pump is working ok? Thanks

easiest way is some clear tubing on the return line to the radiator that way when the engine is up to temp and the thermostat opens you can see the liquid flowing into the rad.

you can pull the covers off and check the pump itself is being operated by the belt, this doesn't rule out an internal failure though

I will giv it a go if i kan find sum clear pipe.

Can i check for internal?

you might have a noisy bearing, thin screw driver on pump and against ear will help with that but otherwise it will mean taking it off to check pump wheel etc

sorry my mistake, i read that last line as there being oil in the water, my fault, skim reading

Sorry for teaching you to suck eggs but does your heater blow hot Air ?? had this problem on a ford ages ago was a clogged pipe.

  • 2 weeks later...

have you solved this issue as i have a similar fault that i need to find,

ive had a new water pump fitted, new thermostat, new radiator and it still gets hot?

 but runs ok ,

no mayo in the oil ,

no water on the plugs  ???

Sounds like airlocks to me, there may be air trapped in the system somewhere,

i hope it is, gonna investigate  my new toy at weekend

Sounds like airlocks to me, there may be air trapped in the system somewhere,

clean engine bay.....(not the same sponge)

 then polish.........

Very nice like it. I hope you told Henry off he's sticking his hose under the side skirts the perv ;)

with regards to the second rad fan, 2 fans are fitted to the air con models, one fan to non air con, i was told not to fit a second one to my non air con rad as it could run too cool and cause it's own problems

mine's got both fitted to the wagon, it did have aircon but its been removed but ive never had any issues with it......yet
