Hi

New member, I have a Legacy V tourer, 2.0 Lineatronic.

I have been looking for a method to boost power for towing caravan.  I know that the ECU cannot be remapped. I have asked around about adding a turbo, however cant find anyone with experience of fitting. I have looked at the 2.5 lt engine but cost of unit plus fitting seems very expensive for gain of only 20hp  

Wondered if anyone has any experience or ideas?

Wotcha - I think it is more than the HP when it comes to towing Torque / nm is more of a factor. Have you researched the 3.0 lump?

If that is cost prohibitive maybe selling / swapping the 2.0 for a 3.0?

As said you'd be better selling it and buying another car, costs involved will be prohibative and it wont help with low down grunt anyway. For towing you want torque not BHP.

Thanks for the advice, will look to buy for 3.0ltr for next years towing season.
