TD Racing (Thwaites Developments - Warwick)

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys, this is where most of the work on my vehicle was done including the remap which provides a great example of a power/torque graph and how it should be done.

The main fella is Mark and he knows his stuff.  Friendly person and very helpful.

Cant say enough good about the place :D

Highly unlikely to be fair, best bet for quotes/information on having work done is to email him via the website.  He doesn't advertise a great deal or try to take trade from others.  I guess most of his work comes in via word of mouth and repeat customers.  For example I now would not go anywhere else to have work done on my vehicle.

Unfortunately he doesn't bother with the likes of FB with being so busy.

So not worth an email to try then :( And he sounds just like the person I would like to advertise for. I might email him and ask him if it's ok if we post something on his behalf with a link he can check then :)

Upto you mate, he will answer emails etc but up until now he's not on any sites like west mids imprezas who are the main group for our area.

We've been offered some regular overtime at work which over the proposed 3 months could equal me getting a new turbo and fmic for the motor... and I'll def be bugging him for it all :)

Thats exactly what I want to hear :) on all counts. And I wouldn't want to tie the club with a company that people have had a lot of problems as it might backfire on the club as it will be us that might have recommended them. But in the aim to try build a good list up he sounds spot on and I like the small type's like him. As ash found with Scooby clinic big name everyone blabs on about how good they are in the space of a week we had 3 members all come on and complain. I might drop him an email all the same just to ask if it's ok before I do anything :) and say you recommended him :D

Yeah I've not heard overly brilliant things about scooby clinic either, API seem ok but they like to sell you stuff you likely don't need.  Whereas Mark will ask what spec YOU want from the car and suggest the means to getting it.  Eg I now need around £4k worth of additions to get from 315bhp upto 420ish.

One good point is that he's good at mapping vehicles, so you're not having to pay for someone to come in to do the work like API who don't have their own individual who can map an ecu which always costs a great deal more.

The other one to watch is the likes of fast !Removed!, whilst a couple of them are nice lads, they're not specialists or highly experienced.  For example they set up the suspension on my WRX without using the camber adjustment on the top mounts which causes the wheel to catch.  Almost highlighting the lack of experience and knowledge in how things should be set up.

Well I emailed Fast Jap's about coming here to advertise and there response was ......................................

So thats was that for me I won't ask again I didn't try to sell it just welcomed them to come and post any deals like Opie Oils couldn't even give me the time of day with a reply so that just get's my back up :D fastjaps too I emailed them but they replied but wouldn't tie themselves to a forum I.e they make to much money and wouldn't pay anyone to post on forums. But they replied so I'm more than happy to still point people that way I might have made it sound snotty they wasn't it was a well written email to be fair better than what I had put  and have bought from them in the past and had no problems so thats the main thing for me as I would like to know who I send over will get the same treatment and be happy with the out com. Same with trying to get this sorted with a good list of garages, and being able to remap in house massive plus I don't know many that can do that without bring someone in or sending it away down the road to have it done.

Yeah its a rare skill outside of somewhere like my workplace.  I operate a 4wd dyno which costs 10x the amount of those you see in any tuner/garage.  Its also better to have a car mapped on a dyno for consistency.  The previous owner of my car had it mapped on the road and they were claiming it was pushing around 380bhp.... a major difference to 315bhp which it is actually running at lol.
