February 7, 20214 yr Hi. I’m looking for some help or advice. I have a 04 Impreza WRX blobeye wagon with 78,000 miles. The engine management light has come on, & the local dealer says it’s the catalytic converter code. To turn it off for the MOT next month (it comes straight back on if turned off) it’ll cost £3000, they say. This is because the car still has the original exhaust that comes in one piece, & the replacement cat comes in two pieces, & the new part can’t be fitted to the original exhaust because there’s no join. What are my options? Has anyone come across this before? The car only ever gets long runs as I use it for a 140 mile commute two to three times a week on the motorway. Thanks in advance for any advice
February 7, 20214 yr you can get a full hayward and scott sports cat system for alot less than that, which is prob your best option
February 7, 20214 yr my 2p I would replace the exhaust with a turbo back stainless steel option, include a sports cat and have a system that will last you for as long as you have the car.
