bitman
Just a question about the different trim levels of the Forester. Back in down under I had a XS stated on the back of the rear Gate but the Forester I bought yesterday doesn't show anything on the rear Gate. According the advert and seller she is a XC. So how do I find out what trim level she has? Many thanks,
LUIGI-3
there should be a badge in your engine bay or boot, alternatively you can find it in your car documents i think :)

Gambit
Came across this with good info on it. Trim code is the interior of the car but found no way of knowing what it means yet :) http://www.cars101.com/subaru/vin.html this was good too so will leave it here to forget about at a later date :D http://www.autobaza.pl/zamow-raport
stants
Neither of those links work for me as my vin is only 9 digits long (jdm spec vin ? ) Mine must translate as Manufacture.Subaru. Body type. forester Engine 5 ? 2.0L 5 speed ? Then the serial number of the car. If the trim levels and what bot are in the vin (uk) why have a trim & option code stamped elsewhere ? stants
Been digging. The trim number on left hand side of the vin relates to the interior upholstrey. Still working out the other bit but i suspect it relates to add ons

antlockyer
The jap market cars have a different numbering system and I can't find any info on that. I put my number in here http://subaru.epcdata.ru/ and it came back with a bunch of stuff including the Interior code 820 (off-black) and Colour code 792 (arctic silver M)
