B.A.R Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Hi all im new so I need bit of help if poss just fitted boost gauge and im only boosting 0.5 any idears been told should b about 1 bar cheers got no leaks from pipes !
Gambit Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I'm guessing you have a standard car mate I.e no mods at all, from standard your car will be 13.5psi in Bar's 0.930825 So might be showing it's right on the gauge. Do you have the LCD or analogue gauges ? Oh and sorry welcome to S.O.C :)
B.A.R Posted March 4, 2014 Author Posted March 4, 2014 Its got a filter and a full decat and up pipe decat aswell and just a dump value
Gambit Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Right I could be wrong here I'm not sure how much if any more boost that will give you mate unless you have had a remap ? if you have then I would say maybe a problem with the gauge. Or pipe work.
Ash007ks Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 hello. No extra boost will be gained at all as its from the solenoid and actuator. It could be the restrictor pill in the Actuator pipe that is too small or a number of other Variables like a cheap turbo with a chinese actuator, DV isnt leaking at all is it ? as that could always be your boost problem ? 1
Jay762 Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Was just going to post what Ash has stated - increasing airflow doesnt get you more boost - just allows you to increase the amount of air fuel mixture into the cylinders - to do that you need a mep or tweak the turbo - ideally both
Gambit Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 No problem mate, feel free to have a look around the forum and join in. Not just all car talk here :)
quit Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Depends on the dump valve as a lot subarus don't like them , Bailey dump valves are probe to breaking the diaphragm inside so cause boost leak But you should be at .9 bar
