sweetlegacy Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Hi, when I turn the ignition, I press the accelerator pedal a bit, creating some noise, a bit silly I guess.
Dogconker Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Sometimes I'll get the revs just right do that the turbo whines and makes a dump valve noise when you change gear. I know, childish and I should have grown out if that by now
iNeoTom Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I often Launch Control my car and turn the anti lag on..... But only off the pubic roads you understand ;)
Dogconker Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I used to have an Opel manta with launch control used to spit 3" flames whether you drive nicely or not, got pulled over quite a lot 1
iNeoTom Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I used to have an Opel manta with launch control used to spit 3" flames whether you drive nicely or not, got pulled over quite a lot Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Now that i like the sound of :) Mine doesn't spit flames the Prodrive back box makes sure of that :(
BoozyDave Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 there's a hill near me that's a 40 zone, when I go downhill in 2nd I feather the throttle and get it popping and banging all the way, it's so funny seeing people jump or looking around smiling and watching me go past :D I must get 50 smiles per gallon 2
Dogconker Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I had a virtually a straight pipe from the manifold it just had a muffler which is bigger tube with lagging in it but it's still straight. Good old Demon Tweeks 1
BoozyDave Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I drive near Meadowhall shopping centre now and again, sometimes I drive into the multi storey car park, drive around in first gear making lots of noise, and then drive back out again 4
Dogconker Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 You know what they say about men and boys and the difference . . . There isn't any difference
mfnick Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Haha I do the exact same thing Dave! I also rev my car randomly at traffic lights - not to start races or anything like that. But just because I like the noise :) 1
Gambit Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 I do a thing at the lights a bit like the revving but I just tap it really fast almost like an anti lag sound should try it :D 1
Gaulson Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 That's brilliant, just to think the amount of people you annoyed setting them car alarms off! lol. My brother used to have a white Opal Manta and he loved it, regrets selling it. Also used to do banger racing in them :) . I also like tend to rev the car every now and then at traffic lights just to hear it purr! 1
bitman Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 back in Austrralia my 2003 Forester XS auto had a folding out cup holding next the radio , i used it for my 2m/70cm handy talkie as being a licensed radio amateur now here in the UK the cup holder is gone in my 2006 XC auto! please Subaru why did you remove it now i have no place for my handy talkie grrrrrrr but you did give me bigger mirrors as the small ones on the XS were just a joke B)
Dogconker Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 My Opel Manta was heavily modded, 2.0 16v Opel GSI engine tuned up quite a bit, 1.6 Carlton gearbox as they use the Getrag gearbox with no seals, wax about 200bhp, which I appreciate isn't much today but back then was pretty serious, 0-60 was just over 6secs. It was also painted ford zinc yellow which didn't stand out much, what with that, the flames and the 109 Db it used to run at its not hard to see why I used to get pulled over a lot. I have to be more sensible nowadays 1
antlockyer Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 My old MKII Escort. Where I lived you came down a hill, took a sharp right (almost back on yourself) then up another hill (which was my street). Every single time I'd come down the hill (quickly) slap it into second, lock it up with the clutch, turn in, power on sideways back up the hill. I'm a good driver but that was a: stupid b: showed a total lack of mechanical sympathy.
Tlag Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 I found that when in a multi storey car park, I can set car alarms off just by driving normally past them. Is it wrong to smile when they go off :)
Gambit Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 I found that when in a multi storey car park, I can set car alarms off just by driving normally past them. Is it wrong to smile when they go off :) Not at all I do the same thing I can even go down a road and do the same thing :D
