They only use multi layer metal head gaskets from the STi

also try MD in Gloucester, a head skim is also recommended as part of the work

A head skim is essential or the work will need to be done again in a few months. API and MD will know that though.

I'd recommend MD Performance too good bloke shouldn't rip you off  either. He's also a member on here

Is it definetly the HG thats gone. Or are you just pricing one up incase  ?

pricing incase have a family friend works for lichfield said he thinks its air in rad but to be sure im going to get a vac and pressure test done asap.

Yeah what I said to you on the phone but worth checking by having the tests done least it's peace of mind. Fingers crossed for you mate.

I'm sure it will be fine I can understand the concerns. I know he had spent cash on the car and really hope he wouldn't have sold it onto you knowingly with that problem. Even if I still think the airlock should have been sorted before selling the car. But anyway let us know tomorrow mate :)
