Silver Forester 2.5 XT
Has anyone fitted a set of wheels with 55mm offset to a Forester. My current wheels are 17 x JJ ET 40. Would the extra 15mm of offset push the tyres outside the edge of the wheel arch?. Just wondering if anyone has theses size of wheels fitted. david1972
Don't know mate, sorry. The standard fit offset is 48 I believe, but not really sure if 55 takes it in or out, so to speak lol [emoji14] Sent from my iphone using Tapatalk
Silver Forester 2.5 XT
I think that the higher the ET number then the further out the wheel and tyre edge is from the hub. So if ET 48 is the standard then my wheel and tyre with ET 40 will be 8mm further into the wheel arch. ET 55 will push the wheel face and tyre 7mm further from the hub than a standard wheel. Wish i could get hold of one to try it. Have found a couple of sets set of 15" Impreza wheels and tyres. They are 17x7JJ, 5 x 100 PCD and ET55 with decent road tyres. . Another question, would a 15" Impreza alloy clear the brakes on a 2.5 XT?. Wish I could get one to try but they are too far to just pop over. Gambit
I couldn't tell you myself either sorry :( I would always recommend if unsure to see if they would let you put one on if they come with tyres. I take it they will be a 2nd hand set with tyres.
stants
You'll need spacers and they may rub on the rear struts, been looking at putting some 17" impreza wheels on mine and thats the info that came back when I asked [emoji20] Sent from my SM-T210 using Tapatalk
Silver Forester 2.5 XT
Thanks for the replies. They are second hand but they are too far away to go and try one on. Might have to wait for a set of suitable Forester alloys to come along. No point in risking buying them and having them delivered to find that they won't fit. Silver Forester 2.5 XT
Perhaps I will strike it lucky one day and find a nice set of Pro Drive alloys and tyres at a decent price :) .
david1972
There are a few sets on fleabay at the minute (I routinely look for them near to me too!). Have seen a set of 17s with good as new tyres on from the 2nd gen facelift model....think they are listed at £525 [emoji27] Also a set of 16s from an XT for £250 These are both Fozzie wheels Sent from my iphone using Tapatalk
stants
The forester sti had different wheels maybe worth gogling nd seeing what offset the were, although I thing the suspension is different too, I'm off to relieve the first xv I see of it's wheels, cant bring myslef to part with that much money [emoji20] 466 is the cheapest if found from the states so that doesn't include shipping or tax, dont think I could get away with ticking the 'gift' section on the customs declaration Sent from my SM-T210 using Tapatalk
