its been proven time and time again that the gains from the higher ron isn't worth the expense lol. the gains are sooo small you wont notice the difference, but 97 does burn cleaner than 95, every now and then I will put a tank of 97 through the leggy as it will clean it out abit but will mainly run it on the cheap stuff, the stuff Subaru designed it to be run on lol.

For mile's I really don't keep tabs on. If I did diesel would have been the better car for me or even worse a Prius :) but the car does run better on the extra cost stuff but have said before I use the extra fuel additive not all the time but from time to time to help combat this :)

I have used both. Believe it or not the 95 ron seems to do worse for my miles. Not sure if that's because you have to give it more for the kick. And the only reason I don't use Shells fuel all the time is I have to go out my way to get to my not so local Shell garage :(

Have to say that even thought I've only done 30 miles on the 1st tank of nitro I'm nearly 1mpg better off. Avg 22.8 as opposed to 21.6 on the old optimax.

Will be interesting to see the mpg after a full tank.

Even if its an extra 1mpg it goes quite away to offsetting the increase in price.
