Rick 2014
When I upgrade the turbo from the tf305 to the td05 will I see a increase in power with out the mapping.Im fitting the rear decat pipe as well
BoozyDave
i wouldn't fit that without a map the turbo will give more air to flow and the exhaust will flow more air too, but no extra fuel. gonna be dangerously lean IMO
Gambit
For me the two things I would only have done with a remap straight away is the Injectors and turbo. So as Dave said I would plan on a remap asap after having it upgraded just to be safe.
Rick 2014
My injectors are big enough to cope. They will wont be any where near max dc
savage bulldogs
The injectors might well be big enough but the oe fueling map won't be set up for the extra air flow created by the decat and bigger turbo . Although the standard ecu will learn and make minor changes to the map you won't get the full benefit from the upgrades and might run lean until the fueling and timing has been tweeked. If you haven't got the £'s for a remap straight away I'd suggest to get it on a dyno to make sure it's not det'ing . As a £50 dyno run is a lot cheaper than a engine rebuild . Rick 2014
Sounds like a plan.I do want the remap. But I have not finished with engine mods and don't want to be in and out tweaking the map every 5 minutes especialy at the cost to have it done.I will have a dyno run and get the afrs checked to be safe thou.Ive been reading bits about the ecu lab map and seems quiet interesting going mafless with the extra toys as well.
Martin959
So... when you do a turbo upgrade... what are the list of things that you have to do together with the turbo? Injectors? remapping?
stants
How much do you want to spend ? Normally fuel pump, injectors, turbo, map, Other things to take into consideration how much power do you want? Front mount intercooler, needed for more than 300bhp. More than 350 new box/clutch, bigger brakes etc the list is endless
Gambit
The TMIC WRX should be good for 340BHP STI for near 400BHP Both could maybe go more BHP in the TMIC but will affect the type of map you have on it.
Rick 2014
Im not going over the top with these mods. For a road car 300bhp is more than ample.Turbo is already fitted.Im just waiting on my up decat pipe to turbo and then fit my middle section decat and then I will go from there.
