BlackBosh Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 So I drive a Daf Lf 45.220 on a daily basis and I've been having an argument with my mate about whether it can go in the 3rd lane on the motorway. Does anyone have any knowledge on this? I am certain it can do 70 on Mways, 60 dual and 50 on SC. It looks like one of them Royal Mail trucks by the way
stants Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Nope commercial vehicles are banned from outside lane, I only found out that speed limits for trucks and what not, apply to vans too ! Somone I know found out the hard way 1

If so, the first line of that link applies: The types of vehicles not permitted to use the right hand lane on a motorway (which has three or more lanes) are, a goods vehicle having a maximum laden weight exceeding 7.5 tonnes,

With the van speed limits you csn only get caught by moblie camera vans and the police patrols, obviously gatso's the like can't distinguish between vehicles, I've been piling round in various size vans for years luckily never been caught doing what I though were legal speeds, now it just gives me an excuse to drive slower and take longer doing my daily deleveries

Somone I know found out the hard way There is talk of tachos being fitted to commercial transit size vans,im not sure when its gonna happen but it is coming believe me lol
