i want it for towing my boat and off road for fishing, i like the idea of an auto but are they any good?

I would always have Manuel myself auto I'm sure is nice for long drives but I like to control the car. And if you change the gearbox oil it jumps up a lot :o

auto great for around town and urban driving / commuting - effortless but if it is specific long journeys I would go for the manual. It also gives more control in situations where there is less traction, or you could go auto and fit a power winch ;)
