Hi all, just got a 03 wrx sti in mica black, 80k on the clock. It's been looked after we'll by main dealer and specialists. In 2nd gear when putting my foot down, it's a little hesitant and then starts boosting away....anyone got any ideas will be appreciated! Thanks

Is this as soon as you change and boot it, or while your in 2nd gear say youve changed 20 secs ago and youve booted?

I know the main issue for me was the jerkiness of 2nd gear coming from a corsa to an impreza that was just a case of learning to shift in a scooby again, though last time i had any hesitance it was the coil packs that need changing on my sport

Ive not yet mastered it, i either jerk about or launch like im at santa pod, my old sprt was a simpler and more docile being, WRX is pushing 270 on a wagon and its twitchy as

is a monster D:

but again might be something else

**mines pushing 270 on a wagon and its twitchy as, if that helps

When was the last time the spark plugs were changed ?

As if the gaps are to big or worn sometimes the boost blows the spark out .

As for helicoiling the brembos it's quite common as the threads are in ally and easily get "stripped" if overtightend.

Helicoiling is just a way of re tapping the mounting threads

The helicoil thread you replace it with will be stonger than the alloy originally stripped, just take you time and ensure everything is drilled and tapped square otherwise you will be putting uneven pressue on the repaired mount
