  1. If its the same kind of lock set up as mine - try pressing the tailgate release button twice when you open it (once for partial and again for full release) then the motorized closer might just close it properly for you...it works for me although mine is manual closing...worth a try though.
  2. Even better .. I Press the tailgate release button twice now (once for partial and again for full release) makes latching closed very easy compared to before. Cheers
  3. Looks like this chap found a way round it on his Outback.
  4. If you have a local Timpsons they might be able to help with just a replacement case maybe. Best wishes.
  5. Looks a bit pricey .... https://jdmaddict.co.uk/shop/replacement-flip-key-sigma-m30-fits-subaru-impreza-forester-legacy-fob-1998-2009/
  6. I've always had to slam the tailgate door down hard for the latch to catch closed - found the weatherstrip that runs along the bottom was not seated properly a while ago but even after putting that right it wasn't much better. A crack even started to appear in the plastic bumper cover under the o/s tail light with all the slamming down. Found that when I open the tailgate - if I hold the release button in for longer (3 to 5 seconds) it closes much better with a lot less force. Hope this helps anyone with the same problem - just have to fix the crack now 🙂
  7. Thanks Judd, that sounds like a good plan to try out. It's the only problem I have and only then in heatwave type temperatures - almost seems as though the fuel has evaporated from the injector lines...the only way I can describe it really. Cheers
  8. Mine is hard to start in very hot weather so the opposite to yours really. It will only start up with a squirt of the accellerator (automatic box). Pleased you got yours sorted Judd.
  9. Yeah, although its a bit of a fiddle sometimes but the end result is just as good as buying entire new wipers. I just bought a pack from ebay and cut them to size...also if you get a wiper blade that splits for some reason you already have a emergency replacement on hand. Cheers
  10. Thanks Judd, I'll give my catch a check too.
  11. Problem gone - after slipping a disc in my back, the car was stood for seven weeks and the battery went completely flat. After getting the car powered up again the tailgate problem disappeared, it must have reset with the flat battery / disconnection. Hope this helps if someone else gets the same problem. Cheers
  12. Hi again, really pleased you found a Forester that your happy with in the end 🙂 I had a look on ebay for the mirror that you want - I can only find ones in America though, heafty postage from there. I've never heard of those mirrors, interesting. All the best
  13. Hi all Problem has popped up with the tailgate, just wondering if anyone has had the same problem (SH model, press button start). After unlocking the car with the fob (all doors 2 presses) the tailgate switch will not release the tailgate catch ...nothing happens (all other doors open fine). Curiously tailgate unlocks when I start the car then tailgate switch works ok - also the tailgate catch partially releases from closed when I turn off the engine. I've tried both of my working remotes but exactly the same happens. Any thoughts much appreciated Cheers Brack.
  14. I'm not an expert, I dont have a clue what the e boxer battery problem is but I do carry a small portable 12v battery pack with me that can start my car if I need it. These are brilliant for emergencies - might be an idea to help you out for now. I went for UTRAI after seeing reviews on you tube. Cheers and all the best
  15. Hi Have you got a handbook? it should say in there...mine is number 20 fuse 10A but its a lot older model than yours so might be different.
  16. Can only speak from my own experience owning a 2009 MY Petrol. Had it 2 years 9 Months and honestly it has never let me down, it just fires up and goes every time ... it needed a fresh cam belt / water pump and pulleys/ new set of tyres when I bought it at 106K miles, haven't had to spend much more on it since ...a yearly oil change and she's happy 🙂
  17. Wonder if the glass is out of alignment and sticking maybe..just a guess.
  18. Dont know why Subaru didnt just build one in as standard on newer models, the cam in the link doesn't mention a speed limit warning as the OP wanted (maybe it has, who knows) but it does look neater. Yes it says it uses the reversing camera to record too (only forward recording on the Legacy ).
  19. Yeah, thats where I have my sat nav down in the corner. Just looked it up about dash cams and eyesight and came across this https://dashcameras.net/dash-cam-subaru-eyesight/ The one I have is only small so might be ok.
  20. Hi Justin, my dash cam is just an aftermarket purchase - it has some useful features see link https://buy.garmin.com/en-GB/GB/p/667391. My car doesn't have eyesight, I mounted it just below the rear view mirror like in the photo in the link (amazing how small they are for what they do). Cheers
  21. Sorry, dont know if there is a speed function or not on your xv - my Garmin 56 Dash Cam does the job for me though.
  22. Fathomed why the tailgate door was hard to close - was having to press it down hard just to get it to click shut. Found the lower middle bit of trim (where the lower catch pops through) was partly sitting on top of the rubber weatherseal. Thats all it was after nearly 3 years of struggle and alarm triggers 🙂
  23. Maybe this one Wulbert? Dont think it mentions SH models though.
  24. Hi, did you buy it? I like the 4 speed auto box but then again I'm strange lol. It's a strong box, it has to be it works hard. Up hills it will annoy you by changing down and up like a yo yo - best in sport mode for hills, it will hold 3rd for for longer - fuel economy, well there is no economy - I get 21.9 mpg around where I live (hilly) and not much more on a run but I still love the thing 🙂
