  2. I had a look on YouTube at a blobeye having one done an the access was the boot mate, presume itll be the same on the wagon eh, doesnt look too difficult tbh, I'll just have to pick some brains before going ahead with it
  3. I'm a complete mong it's not oil on the filter it's just crap built up on the bottom side🤦‍♂️ , but gonna go ahead an replace the filter what do yous recommend was thinking the washable kn boyo, I'll be doing the pcv at some point anyways just thinking which might be worth while doing first put of that an the fuel filter.
  4. Looking to do the fuel pump at some point too you done that mate?
  5. Just hope it's not the piston rings eh🙄 are their any other signs if that was the issue? Yeah think its maybe one of those that gets overlooked an forgotten about, mine will be ready for it at 104k eh, what's yours done? Haha, I know people that have had sti's frequents at the gum clinic✌
  6. Nice one well might aswell have a go see what happens, it's only a very small amount of oil on the filter, have you had it with yours? I thought you had an sti mate that was all
  7. Cheers mate, is it in the same place on the wrx as the sti though? Just watched a video, people saying be careful which parts to loosen first to remove the intercooler an replace it, for boost leak an what not, is it a simple job? What the valve set you back mate?
  8. Anybody have any clue where the pcv valve is an 05 blobeye wrx? Can only find videos for sti's under the intercooler is it in the same place? .I've a bit of oil in the air filter so thought this would be a good place to start
  9. Ouch that's gonna sting If that's the case what about dirty diesels they're worse arent they🙄, fingers crossed its it's not the case.. ffs love the motor but 550 mind you its once a yr wonder if the 2.5s will go up aswell then
  10. Bit off topic but anyone know what these new road tax rules are gonna mean for us lot?
  11. Probably could do with a swap on the fluid just wasnt sure if itd be avoidable, those hoses look a bit suspect aswell tbh not sure if they'll be easy to get off the caliper either, I have an impact I could give it a blast with must be a fancy socket ya can get for the job though?
  12. The bolts are corroded as mate, god knows how they're coming off like, think it's a 14mm socket had a go an it just crumbled😭
  13. Nice one Rossco I'll look into that, as long as they're half decent👍 I'll probably hang on a bit before I swap em seem to be working fine at the moment took it for a spin today bedded in ok. So I take it I'd be just as well changing the brake fluid aswell eh?
  14. Morning gents, was replacing the pads on my 05 blobeye yesterday an discovered my calipers have seen better days, priced some reconditioned up for 250-300, i am a novice car wise, so what difficulty would this be to change myself an what would I need? Not sure if the hydraulic lines that connect to them will even come loose they look pretty well rusted but couldnt be sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I noticed that on the drivers sid only one pad had been wearing looks like the 2 pots arent working. When I took it for a test it was like the brakes were slightly stuck on but freed up some is this normal for the first while?
  15. Hahahah good effort siluro😂 wouldnt surprise me the stupid sheet you hear these days.
  16. No havent gone near the brakes yet mate that's been put back to next month waiting on a hand from the brother In law. What sort of difficulty level would you say tranny fluid is?
  17. Still no wiser on tuning my spare key cant find anything that works online, starting to do thy napper in now
  18. Plugs done been out for a test run everything seems spot on wonder how much that would have cost at a garage 🤔. What would you lads do next service wise done engine oil rear diff plugs that's it so far. Brake fluid an rad fluid done last year. Tranny fluid?
  19. Basically last month the lad at the garage noticed the level was on the high side an recommended removing some to make it about in inch above the min mark so did that, an this morning I checked it when the car was frosty it was bang on the line an then checked again when the sun had been on it a while an it went back to where it was so false alarm you were spot on mate👍. Gonna do plugs this weekend started it.last weekend removed the washer bottle an battery then noticed the half inch ratchet I had was too bulky so hadto sack it off till I got a 3/8 ratchet got one now though
  20. I've noticed over about 2000 miles cars used maybe like 25mm of water out the res. 🤔
  21. Still havent got round to the plugs yet😂 this weekend, universe permitting. So what could go wrong changing plugs?
  22. Cheers lads just had a look on both sites are these the right ones says their for the ej20 on fitment🤷‍♂️. https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/ngk-spark-plug-408991930
  23. In the spark plug swap out videos I've seen, theirs 3 plugs is this correct? I'm just about to order some from opie oils 15% discount this weekend. Ngk platinum doesnt say anything about 6 or 7 though stuartie
  24. Thanks very much for the I depth tips siluro, lucky you caught them on the dashcam! An that was a dealership just goes to show you ya cant trust some garages. seems like it could be quite tedious, so is it possible I could do damage before even knowing theirs a problem? I'm gonna have to find a video with the blobeye model to see where drain off is etc, not looking forward to it tbh 😬
  25. Yeah all standard here mate cheers stuartie, cars been runnin sweet since the front sensor swap out, 👌. Think I'm gonna change rad fluid next job, can it be a ball ache?
