Battlefield 4
Sounds great, look forward to that video and might have to treat myself. Did you ever play 3? That's available for about £10 now. If its almost as good I might make do with that for a while. You just reminded me of Dirt, got to say I liked the first and really enjoyed 3 - especially with the on screen stuff turned off and in car view. Really immersive. Definitely a lot more arcadey though. Sorry to high jack the thread btw

Battlefield 4
How are you finding WRC 4 mate? Is it any good? Not played a really great Rally game since Colin 04 back on PS2. Owned loads but none have come close to that classic.

RB320 Newbie
Really? Learn something new everyday, that's pretty cool! I like that.

RB320 Newbie
Sounds like a good bunch of extras that! Are the engine internals upgraded at all from stock do you know? And FMIC = front mounted intercooler Looks like I can see the intercooler in the bumper in that first pic. Can't quite make it out since its cut off in the pic and not straight on so could be mistaken.

RB320 Newbie
Looks lovely mate! Excuse my ignorance but what's the difference between a normal Hawk and the RB320? Apart from the extra horses (I take it, it's 320bhp from the name?). And is that a FMIC I see in the pic? I know this is one of your dream cars Gambit, so I take it you know haha!

Cleaning Hypersilver Finish Wheels
Yea I might give it a test try in a very small area. I'm thinking of getting them resprayed or even another set of wheels anyway but that's a while away yet so would like them to be clean at least until that point!

Battlefield 4
Gem, you're an angel! Lol. He's a very lucky fella by sounds of all that! Imagine all the car goodies £1500 would buy.... I wouldn't have been able to do that. No matter how much I loved someone haha! If I was in the same position, £500 would have gone on her and £1000 on my car ;)

Cleaning Hypersilver Finish Wheels
I've got an acid based cleaner but its for chrome wheels. And it has loads of warnings about not using on anything other than chrome so not used that. Plus my google searches said not to use it either, although they say normal cleaning products work and they don't in my experience. Thanks for moving the thread for me btw. Didnt mean to post in general.

Battlefield 4
I've been playing since Sonic 2 was released on the Master System, I'm only 27 so was a bit later to the party ;). I have owned a C64 and Amiga 500 though, plus just about every system released over the years since the MS. Never been a big PC gamer though, dont know why just can't get into it. Does look amazing on PC. I take it you've heard of Giantbomb? I was watching their quick look of it, looked seriously impressive. Ill no doubt end up getting both next gen consoles but the Xbox One will be my first purchase I think. Solely thanks to Forza 5. I'm a massive Forza fan :D

JAE ?
First time I'd ever been too. Stayed on site though. Honda gave us a big gazebo with generator, TV, music system plus some other bits so we basically just got drunk in our oversized tent :) Anyway, the Type R forum is back up and here are links to pics as promised. As to be expected there's a lot of the Type R's and of our group but there's lots of great pics of other stands and cars too. http://www.funkycivic.co.uk/2013/09/jae-2013/ https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.335119396633565.1073741861.100004065234178&type=1&l=a8fa5cad3e https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.335128983299273.1073741863.100004065234178&type=1&l=c56e5bfbde https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.335156063296565.1073741864.100004065234178&type=1&l=d2d76b3145 https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.335173006628204.1073741866.100004065234178&type=1&l=8eed2c4439

Battlefield 4
Got to admit to being a bit of gaming nerd myself. I won't be getting this until I get a next gen console though which may be a long way away looking at the prices of them. Got to say I wasn't a massive fan of BF3 either, I much preferred BF: Bad Company 2. Although a lot of that I think was due to the size of the maps and small player count, a problem the next gen version of BF4 sorts. Is that the PC version?

Cleaning Hypersilver Finish Wheels
Wondered if any of you guys have any experience with alloys finished in Hypersilver? I just can't get them clean!!! I've used my normal cleaning stuff on them, I've tried some heavy duty all wheel cleaner on them - which is meant to be good enough to clean even chrome wheels - plus some elbow grease and nothing! It gets rid of the surface dirt and brake dust but I can't ge rid of the grey staining. Now I've had a couple of drives since my last clean so they weren't as bad as in that pic but even just after a clean a lot of those grey stains are still there. Any ideas? I know there must be a way because they were shiney and almost as reflective as a mirror when I first bought the car. I've tried google and that didnt help either :(

JAE ?
I went. Had a fantastic time, went with my old Civic Type R gang though. But one of the other guys from there has a new WRX STi - my avatar pic is from there next to it. The site is down at the minute but when it's back up ill post a link to some of the pics if youd like?

Date for next South Yorkshire Meet
Any night is fine with me really. All just comes down to what time I finish work on the actual day.
-
Subaru fun
Yea that would be great. Maybe we could have a "national meet" section for those kind of bigger meets where we try to get the whole club involved. I don't know how easy that would be to add though, if its possible at all...

Subaru Servicing in Sheffield
You finally getting that damn clutch sorted? ;) Be easy to waste time there though. Meadowhell is just around the corner so you could go and waste even more money in there or just look at all the flange that gathers there. It's a fitty !Removed! magnet that building I tell ya. Or go to Centretainment and watch a film or 2 while waiting, only a 10 minute walk away. Mines booked in for next Tuesday for some new brake discs and pads all round. Plus I'm getting that heat shield sorted. :)

Subaru fun
I was near the front of the queue to get on most of the afternoon, just opposite the signing on booth. I spotted them by the strip. That white one did look nice, had some lovely alloys I wanted to nick too. Cheers mate. I've calmed down now haha! Yea, at least i know for future now. Thinking we could even set up a meet there next summer :)

AngelWax 'Drift' for WHITE cars
I wouldn't dare with a power polisher either. Heard too many horror stories of novices completely ruining some of the paintwork with them. That stuff does leave a great shine looking at those pics!
-
What Have You Wasted Money On Recently?
Nice one mate. !Removed! ace when stuff like that happens!
-
Subaru fun
That was ace. I popped over to the drifting section while waiting for them to dry the strip but there wasn't anything running at the time :( Did spot a wagon going on just as I was leaving though, but was too fed up to stop and watch haha.

a few pics of my project so far
Brilliant thread mate! I love this type of stuff, really interesting. I doff my cap to you good man! People like you who do this type of thing at home just amaze me, I can't even begin to imagine how I'd do this kind of thing myself. But I sure would love to! Well done!

Over weekend I decided to fit my recently purchased iPod aux adaptor for the aftermarket stereo that's fitted. Was surprisingly easy :) Firstly removed the glovebox Then drilled a 32mm hole in the top of the surround. Had to be so big to fit the plug through. Due to the plastic being so thick a normal grommet wouldn't fit properly. Luckily had a 32mm locknut and bush with rubber insert which fitted perfectly. Only problem being it wasn't black, but when it's fitted in the car unless you lean down and look for it you can't see it anyway. Next I removed my radio, or at least pulled it out enough to access the rear of it. Plugged the lead in, screwed everything back and tested. Boom! Working perfectly! Not that I listen to it much when I've got that awesome burble and turbo noises, but its nice to have for longer motorway journeys to tracks & great driving roads. :)
