  1. Me to Miggs, the furthest I've went is 450mls (1 way) to wokingham for a CR500 to supermoto it....won't do that again
  2. For the mot, it's a decatted full stainless just now, I can get a sports one of need be, that'll take care of the front/main one, but do they have a 2nd one underneath that joins to the long mid section. I'm just asking incase I've still got it come near mot time in a few months
  3. Thanks for links Gambit, it's appreciated....theyr'e all miles from me though, I'm in South Glasgow, I dont have alot to play with either right now, about 1500ish is my limit (for now). If I did travel to one, I would hope that a seller was up front about it, as I dont want to get there and it's all holed ect under it like mine was....I honestly think I'd hit them
  4. I now wish I'd kept it and got it fixed up after seeing the amount of turbos for sale, people just cant run them, simple as that I'll probably need to go for another make as so far I've only saw 2 (yes 2!) nons....think my days of wrx's are as good as done
  5. Thanks, I'll mention the compression test to him and see what happens
  6. For a 95 wrx...I know the engine's coming out and the inlets ect all removed so am I aswell with a full top end kit or can I get away with just 2 head gaskets....Jay, Miggs & Gambit your knowledge and expertise are required once again :)
  7. It won't be easy at all....there's tons of turbos but hardly any nons, I know what that tells me
  8. And miss it already, I know that's daft and needed a lot of welding but that's me.....but now I'll probably concentrate on the turbo...oh well
  9. Nice 1....probably does though Alot of dealers and garages have them too
  10. It's stronger here as it's closer
  11. If that's the case though why is there no mayo anywhere, or is that not always the case
  12. Bollox....(not for me) a friend texd and was going to look at a V70 2.5tdi, seemingly runs fine but the eml is on, seller seemingly said it came on because it ran very low on fuel. I said he's (seller) talking ****, I've never had that on anything I've had inc the 2 T5s....or can it happen
  13. And me...hence using the 2 I stick to, one's mobile, used the first four 14 yrs and 2nd about 3
  14. Sorry, I see what you mean, I would like to think he wasn't like that by don't know, see what happens I don't know
  15. Why, when it goes bang after a rebuild you mean
  16. I know, I'm only saying what I was told from someone that works with them
  17. I asked someone that works with these engines and said there's no overheating, no mayo ect, they said it in that case it would be fine, but if it's been overhearing (it hasn't, well started creeping a few weeks ago but not right in the red)
  18. That's true, thing is, I wouldn't know how bad it was till it's off
  19. Driving daily (sedately no boost) with a blown h/g and topping water up every 2nd day, I friend said don't as I'm still doing damage, is this right, the temp sits normal...just wondered
  20. It's ironic, but this is on the one that's only had 3 owners in 15yrs, the one on the turbo's fine I'll have a look tomorrow
  21. Aye till they run of fuel....which won't be long if they take mine
  22. Jay, the same could be said for the one's i mentioned especially the MR2, but I suppose the Impreza (as stated in another thread) is and kind of always will be a thug/ned type car. After all, a pizza faced late teens early 20s won't run about in T5 or Aero
  23. Higher (and quite often a lot) to insure than other cars that are just as quick or quicker, I don't get it, what's the main reason/s. Because I've had fast'ish cars before this ie MR2 turbo, T5, Saab Aero ect, what's going on because it's an Impreza turbo
  24. How the hell do you stop it, it's doing my t*ts in.....I adjusted on a car a few years ago as there room to "move" the catch to pull it down harder against the stops....so how's it done on the classic wagon, can it be done
